We called Dart at 6pm because there was black smoke coming from our burner, and we were told someone would call us back. We called again at 8pm because it started happening again and no one had called us back, and the woman tells us that

July 2011- CUSTOMER BEWARE! This business is not BBB accredited (although some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation) makes you wonder though why?

Poor business practice of charging you for the repair job PRIOR to getting a full estimate or approval. They require CC over the phone prior to sending the repair man, although verbally they say they will call you prior to starting the job they don't! DECEPTIVE! watch out!

got to be careful of these guys when giving your debit card over the phone they often charge you twice .very expensive repairs 130 an hour plus parts

Had been a loyal customer for oil for 2 seasons until now!
Extremely annoyed at them.

Recently, 1 floor of my 2 zone heating went out. Called them on a sunday for service (initial charge 149.99). Tech came, quickly started working on system/parts. Told me there was sludge/air in oil system. cleaned it up, changed filter. total bill 270. (about 1 hour of his time)
Bills me, gets ready to leave when I notice it's still not working. I ask him to re-evaluate and within 5 minutes of his re-evaluation(turned 1 knob) he tells me pipe is frozen and I need to call some other guy who charges 225/hour for specialized equipment.
(I got it unfrozen by a guy on Craigslist for $300/ 4.5 hours of work. This is a separate positive story)

So I've been communicating with their office manager regarding this mishandling. Problem was misdiagnosed by inexperienced technician. He almost left without fixing AND diagnosing problem. Had he just turned one knob and told me pipes were frozen I would've been spared the 120 dollars spent changing filters etc (which were just changed 3 months ago).
I just wanted my 120 back, but case was reviewed by their owner and this was denied.
So I'm done ordering oil from them, and I would suggest avoiding ordering any service from them.

Oh by the way, during one of my phone conversations in sorting this out, one of their service reps accidently billed me $1199.99 (meant for someone else). This was fixed, but nevertheless, almost gave me a heart attack, and provides insight on the kind of messy operation they are running.

I have been very polite with them in handling this, and informed them I would not order oil, leave negative reviews. Apparently, to them this is worth $120.00.

I have been using Dart for about 4 years now. They fixed and fixed my old burner over and over without complaint until I could not take it anymore. I wanted a new burner so I would have no problems in thewinter. They assured me that the old burner still had a few years left in it. I had them put in a new one. I liked that they did not push me for a new one to make money, I had to push them!!! They are great, when we have problems they get there fast!

Always prompt, courteous, and offer the lowest heating oil prices I've found anywhere. Just make sure to get the name of the person you spoke to, because they don't seem to speak to each other in the office.

Always prompt, courteous, and offer the lowest heating oil prices I've found anywhere. Just make sure to get the name of the person you spoke to, because they don't seem to speak to each other in the office.

Pros: Short wait time for delivery, offer boiler service, technicians are knowledgable and friendly.

Cons: Have had times when service men didn't arrive after confirming, because someone didn't pass along my message. Make sure to always get the name of whomever you speak to.
