To the person who left the latest comment in 2008 and says the comment before "must have come from a competitor"...the "comment before" was just stating ABSOLUTE FACT -- While, I love the teachers at Joni's, it is VERY TRUE that things are NOT cleaned. There is snot and mess left on toys, etc...

And the food IS prepared in the same area (on the table) as the diaper changes. That's not a brash comment made from a competitor...that's a fact -- and there ARE 16 kids sharing a changing area...

And some teachers do not teach, but just watch the clock.

The school is a good school -- overall,my child is very happy there. But there are very solid sanitary issues that need to be addressed.

And the children do not always get their hands washed...especially when parents ask...when their child is sick.

Those are just facts -- the school is severely lacking in some areas.

The negative comment I read before must have come from a competitor. My daughter has been there for 3 years and she loves it and so do I. Great curriculum.. This is not just child care but they teach so much. She attended the kindergarten program and is beyond the curriculum of others in 1st grade.. I highly recommend the kindergarten program.. The ratio of teacher to children in the class is significantly lower than in public kindergarten.. I would highly recommend them. I will miss Jonis dearly.

I spent a couple of hour's at Joni's observing the staff to see what the place was really like. The parent handbook sounded good, but it didn't seem like any of the described practices were in place. They say they thoroughly clean everything every Friday, I was there on a Monday morning, and everything in the infant area was filthy. Dried food, drool, & snot covered the toys & infant swings & seats. The staff prepares the babies food in the same place the diapers are changed. The infant room shares a "changing area" with the toddlers next door, so 16 kids share one changing station. Due to the sharing set up there is no safety strap, no padding, and nothing to prevent the child from rolling right off the other side of the changing station if you have a wiggly baby. They put down a small square of wax paper before they change a diaper, but it does not adequately cover the area. When the toddlers were going to engage in a messy craft activity, instead of having the children put smocks on the 'teachers' had them take their clothes off so they wouldn't get messy. The staff did not follow the posted handwashing procedures. The babies seemed miserable - crying for hours at a time, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed out.
