If you need hardware help dont go here  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I went to Home Depot the other day for a corner edge for a large box. (4 ft long, metal, shaped like an L) I asked 3 men who where they might be. One told me they didnt carry them which I knew they did because I just bought some from a different Home Depot. They other told me flooring I didnt quite understand but needless to say I didnt go I continued to look in hardware. They other told me they were over in the lumber area. He was warmer but he wasnt hot. After getting frustrated with what I wanted to be a run in and out trip I started walking up and down every row in hardware until I found them. Some men just shouldnt work at a job they know nothing about. Or it is not that they know nothing about it they just dont care as long as they show up ans get a paycheck still. Next time I'll go to Lowe's across the street.

PROS: They had the item in stock
CONS: Everything else

Fairly well stocked, service not so great  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Well, after we bought a house in Old Bowie, many trips to home depot and lowes were required. Fortunately they are essentially across the street from each other, so if you can't find what you want at one, go to the other.

The Home Depot in Bowie suffers from long waits and poor attitudes among the front of the store customer service folks. Mostly african-american, with the "I don't care" attitude. In the other sections of the store, if you can find someone, they are somewhat helpful if you're in their section. However, if you're not in their section, be prepared for "sorry, this isn't my section." and they walk away.

My advice: The first time you go, spend about an hour wandering around taking mental inventory of what's there and where it's located -- thinking ahead to what you'll need. After a few trips, you won't need to deal with the staff any longer.

PROS: Decent prices, fairly good stock. Regular how-tos
CONS: poor service, lack of attentiveness
