.

My fiance and I met with a "vendor manager" in January of this year. Upon meeting with him, we set a sale price which was a lot higher than what we were expecting. He also made a lot of "guarantees" to get us a buyer in one month's time, since we only wanted one-month contract. Well he had us sign, but there were parts blank that he told us not worry about. Well wouldn't you know, he set our contract to last six months. Since we were a bit naive about the real estate "game," we didn't notice it until it was too late.

In addition, this lovely vendor manager had "left" the company shortly after we signed our contract. We received no notification from anyone at Foxtons until I called about scheduling a time for the photographer to come to our apartment. We didn't get a response for almost a week! This then started what would become a real estate nightmare.

We tried to find ways to terminate our contract, but they were fruitless. And during the 6 month period, only FIVE people had seen the apartment. 4 of them didn't even want a studio, which our apartment was. They wanted a one-bedroom. So it seemed like a bit of the old bait-and-switch routine.

No one was contacting us, unless we contacted them. No open house was scheduled until I amost got into an argument with the supposed new "vendor manager" whom to this date (after our contract has ended) never met or spoke to again. My fiance even called them numerous time, and left messages with the regional manager, who left me a very rude message stating that we never called him.

It has been nothing but a disaster with them. Another person our building is using Foxtons and it has taken them over a year to find someone to want to purchase her 1-bedroom apartment and the only reason that person came along is because she knows my cousin!

I would never recommend Foxtons to anyone, unless they want to deal with a headache.

You know what even bothers me more? It's been about a month since my contract ended with them and they are still listing my studio on their website. The funny thing is that they were supposed to use MLS for the apartment and never did!

Ridiculous - and hope someone from Foxtons reads this message, because they certainly need to check out their staff
