We stayed here this past weekend in order to enjoy the festivities of the Bizarre Bazaar in downtown Salem. The staff were so terrific, and the location was simply perfect. Everything we wanted to do was right outside the door to this very special hotel.

By the way, the food in both of their restaurant was outstanding, and the unique decor throughout made this a very special place to visit. We can't wait to come back.

PROS: Staff, cleanliness, unique flair, terrific service
CONS: The bathrooms are a little small, but we came to see Salem, not our bathrm.

I had a beautiful and elegant wedding reception thanks to this fine hotel - I had wanted my wedding here since I was a little girl. And believe me, they gave me a wonderful package and absolutely delicious food. This is an old hotel with a stunning ballroom and excellent waitstaff. Our wedding coordinator was outstanding. You can't have more than 190 people comfortably so a smaller wedding is the way to go with this hotel.

The Hawthorne hotel is a very beautiful hotel. Each October they have an elegant halloween ball in there ballrooms. This hotel is old and famous and has lots of history. It is located in the Salem, MA historic district a place well worth the price. The rooms are extremely clean, staff is excellent. Prices are rather on the high side but the location is near all the Salem attractions.
