I was yelled at by the store manager because I got a second opinion on a break job they botched!!! I called to see if they stood behind their work, and after being yelled at for almost 2 minutes he hung up on me.... I guess I got my answer. I will never go to a Midas for work again!! Very unprofessional, very disrespectful, and very dishonest! Avoid the Eden Prarie Midas they have very poor management.

They did a pretty good job with my car. I liked that they worked on it really fast. They got it all painted and done within good amount of time. I'm also glad that they didn't charge me so much.

First time customer to Eden Prairie Midas my experience was great! I looked up the nearest brake shop close to my new apartment in Eden Prairie on the Internet. I read all the reviews on line and thought hmm... I called and explained my brake issue with Dylan. He was very courteous and had genuinely empathetic to what my problems were. I chose to bring my car to them for the free brake inspection. The car needed 1200$ for the brakes and I was way over due on some of my fluid changes. I printed up coupons and brought them with me and Benjamin happily took it. With doing the fluids and brakes Benjamin also gave me a additional discount that i didn't even ask for! It was raining out Ben said it will take 2-3 hours and offered to drive me to the mall or home. After chilling in my new apartment for the morning Ben calls and offers to pick me up! Now that's service! I know so many people get the ca hones to write when they are not happy for one reason or another well I like to share when its positive as well as poor customer service. These guys were great and are now my car guys!

Thanks Benjamin, Dylan, Adam and Chad.

I was very pleased with the service I received by Ben at Eden Praire Midas. I had some recent brake failure and they got me in right away and took care of the problem(s) within a couple hours. They even gave me a ride to work, which helped enormously. The pricing was very fair and they also informed me of future maintenance. I will gladly refer them to friends and family.

Along with the majority here, I just had a very bad experience with Midas in Eden Prairie. I know the guy's name I dealt with, but am opting to keep it out of the review. I knew I needed at least 2 front brake pads for my car. I called for an estimate and he stated that it would be $149.XX + tax. I then asked if they had a military discount and he said he could work something out.
I had my girlfriend bring my car in today because like most people, I work from 8-5. The estimate comes in at over $900 for 4 rotors, 4 brake pads, and brake fluid. I decided to just get front brake pads and have my father help me replace the rest this weekend. By the way, the 4 rotors and 2 remaining brake pads will cost me $136 from United Auto. I understand that doing auto work yourself is much cheaper, but $700+ in labor for 3 hours of work seems a bit absurd.
I saw a coupon online for $20 off per axle for brakes. I asked if he could honor the coupon and he said "no" because he needed to physically staple it to the receipt. OK I said, how about the military discount? He said if I would have had all $900+ in work done, he could have given me "$80-$100" off, but for just front pads (as discussed on the phone yesterday) he could not give me anything off. I then asked if he could just print the $20 coupon off the Midas site and he said he would not do that either. He did say he could give me $10 off without the coupon. I said "that's ridiculous" because we both knew there was a valid $20 coupon on the site, he just refused to print it for me. Now I'm a reasonable guy, and realize that I should have printed the coupon off last night and sent it with the car today, but how about a little customer care? Now it gets really silly. I say fine, and give him my credit card number over the phone. He gives me the total without the $10 off and I question it. He said, "you just said it was ridiculous, so why would I want to give you the $10 off." Well, 1) because you said you would, and 2) it is ridiculous. It's ridiculous that we even needed to have that conversation over $10, especially when he's already making out like a bandit on the minimal work they did. So what happened? He charged me the full price, "made a note" in my customer file, and hung up on me after he received my credit card number.
Please look elsewhere when you need car repair. There is a Precision Tune Auto Care that has received very favorable reviews, a Tires Plus, and many other choices around Eden Prairie.

Okay... so I've read everyone's horror stories about Eden Prairie Midas. But it just so happens that there is at least one very excellent mechanic working there. I'm not sure who worked on these other cars, or why the incidents happened, but I've had two cars worked on numerous times with great results. I've had exhaust work done, brakes, water pump, tire replacement, and tire alignment. The Assistant Manager is great. He is very honest, straightforward, and thorough with estimates. Amazingly, he also works on most of the cars himself. I trust Eden Prairie Midas 100% simply because of their Assistant Manager. I know that he will not rip me off or do a sloppy job.

I took my Iz truck into Midas in Eden Prairie because of the blower had gone out on the truck. Midas had hooked their fancy machine up and told me right off the bat that the blower motor has gone bad, and it would cost $500 for a new motor, or $250 for a used motor with $50 installation fee, so the dignostic cost me $50, at the same time my wife convinced me to let a friend of hers take a look at the truck, low and behold it was just a blown fuse...

was this a simple ignorant mistake from a pro, or was this a rip off scam attempt to lift $250/$500 from my hard working pocket...

Honestly, there is no excuse for a pro like midas to over look such a basic function as the fuse. I told the manager that I hope it is something as simple as the fuse, when the test was done, he come back and told me to my face that I had a bad motor.

midas told me that they could only find the motor in ohio, but the person that fixed the fuse had found a new motor in MN for just over $100 if i did in-deed need a motor.

The manager should be fired for being a crook, or being just to ignorant on what is going on.

Midas - honesty does not seem to be your best policy.

I am not ashamed to say that Midas of Eden Prairie
almost ripped me off, do you want midas working
on your vehicle?

PS I can not prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that midas did or did not know about the fuse when they claimed to do a full check on the truck, but one thing is for sure, and definate, they did try to

rip me off, $50 to only install the motor? come now, what shop only charges $50? This tells me right off the bat that I would have over paid for the actual motor if I did decide to go with midas... So if they
were going to charge me $500 for a new motor, then that would have been such a huge markup...

how much was the actual cost of the motor? $100? $150? $200? and they were going to charge me $500 for a new motor plus $50 for installation....

This is just a huge disapointment in midas or for any mechanic shop that takes advantage of its clients. If you want a client base, this is not the way to go on treating clients, or taking advantage of the client because he has no heat in the truck when it is 10 degrees outside.

I do not care if I broke down in the driveway of midas,
I will never call upon their ripoff service ever again.

After backing our SUV into cement steps, I realized I had hit the tailpipe and it was making a rattling sound. I took it to Midas Muffler in Eden Prairie and left it for an estimate. They said the muffler was destroyed and that most of the exhaust system would need replacement because it was shoved forward. The written estimate was astronomical! On a hunch, we took it to our regular auto body shop (UnderCar Services in Edina) for a second opinion. They hoisted it up and took a look. He said the muffler was fine and that the pipes just needed a little adjusting. He simply moved everything back in place and charged us nothing! When we called Midas and told them our story...the comment was "We're glad things worked out OK for you." We wanted to let people know that this specific Midas will replace things that don't need replacing and will do unscrupulous things to get your business. My husband and I do not want anyone else to be taken in by these people!

I liked this service shop...until today. I will admit they treat you nice and are very thorough and offer you "options" when they tell you what you need done on your car. It's after they fix your car that's the problem. I had my car in as the brakes (e-brake cable) locked up so my rear wheels wouldn't move. Luckily I was about a half mile away when this happened so the tow charge wasn't enormous. So I took my car in and they fixed it to the tune of over $900. That was Wednesday afternoon. So I drove the car on Thursday and it was great. Friday morning I had a very important meeting and am leaving for it and my brakes lock up on my car before I even get out of the neighborhood! Oh crap! So I call Jim over at Midas and tell him he has a major problem because my "prior" problem just repeated itself and I have a big meeting I have to miss because I can't move my car. I figured I needed to get my car there and I wasn't paying for another tow so I forced the car the three or four miles (while the brake pads are locked against my rear wheels, mind you) to get to the service shop. I walk in and one of the mechanics tells me they'll get it taken care of. They pull the car into the bay to take a look at it, look at it for about 2 minutes and pull it right back out and say they took care of it. Turns out a bolt was "too tight," so they loosened it. No problem, right? Got it taken care of and no big deal. NOPE. They didn't even drive my car to see if it was working right!! I drive the car to run some errands in the early afternoon and went and did some Christmas shopping at the MOA. I left the mall and got in my car, and on the way down the hill in the parking ramp my rear wheels lock up!! Are you kidding me!?! So I call Jim at the Eden Prairie Midas back and tell him what happened. He said he'd cover the tow to get the car from MOA to EP. I called Williams Towing to get a flatbed to get my car back to the shop for round two THAT SAME DAY. THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN THREE DAYS! They told me 2 to 2.5 hours before they could get there. So instead of making Jim pay for the tow I once again decide to grit my teeth and force my car to Eden Prairie at highway speeds. Let me tell you, the most nerve racking 30 minutes of my life. So I get the car to Midas in Eden Prairie around 5 p.m. on Friday. They have an hour until close and they aren't in any hurry to get to it tonight. They tell me they'll get to it first thing in the morning. I then ask if it's an independently owned Midas and Jim tells me it's owned by a guy named Sandy Hendrickson - (952) 545-9070 is the number to his "Hendrickson Ent Incorporated", if anyone's interested - and gives me his name and phone #. So I leave and am in the process of leaving the parking lot with my friend, who so graciously took time to pick me up, when I have to stop and run back into the shop because my car is sitting outside and I'm wondering if it's going to be there all night. Jim tells me he'll get it inside. I'm going to drive by later tonight to verify that. Anyway...we leave and I call this Sandy Erickson on the way home. Some guy at his company picks up and says he's gone home for the day, so I explain the story and he doesn't offer any help whatsoever. Oh well, what's new right? So that's where I am currently. I just got home and felt compelled for the first time in my life to review a business. Here I am without a car on a Friday night and my car is sitting at the Eden Prairie Midas with no one working on it and twenty minutes still left to do so. Not to mention not one person has apologized to me for me having my car in for a rather minor problem for the third time in less than 72 hours. What happened to customer service? What happened to quality work?

Pros: Not many.

Cons: Repairs aren't done correctly, no useful customer service.

In eden prairie area, I found a very place for auto service. This is nice place, well mentained and fine repairs. I have never got complain being over there. They not only look for the your problem but inspite of that they do complete auto check also. And make their recommendations. Charges are very reasonable.
