I realize some of the reviews of this place so far might make you think twice about this place, but it is truly a hidden gem. Ron, the owner, took incredible care of myself and my family for my son's Bar Mitzvah.
The food is very good and there is a great variety of it. Many of my guests couldn't believe all of the choices for just the cocktail hour alone. Also, there isn't a separate room for the cocktail hour, so it was wonderful that the guests could simply enjoy sitting at their tables for that. The service was spectacular. All night long the ladies and gentlemen on staff were courteous and quick! My table asked for more coffee and had it on the table within the next few minutes. The entrees were standard but very delicious. All in all a lovely dining experience.
The view is also something to speak of. It's windows look out on the lake it sits on so even though we had a February affair, it was gorgeous. They had a nice outside area where you could meander if it were warmer. And I'm sure it makes for greater pictures in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
If you like privacy, this place is your choice. I loved that it wasn't "factory" like in their treatment of you. If you're there you are the only party. They give you individual attention. The parking area is huge. Yes it is set back from the road and those who are coming in might have a little bit of a hard time if they don't see the sign. But there's truly LITTLE room for error if you're looking for it. It's a big sign with an arrow!
The only down side that I did find was the outdated bathrooms...but honestly it didn't take away from our party AT ALL! We still had somewhere to go that was clean as a whistle.
Please check this place out. You will be happy you did. The amazing service speaks for itself. The food is very good. The staff is wonderful. The location is beautiful. It's a winner!!

Just attended a wedding there last night. It was awful. And I'm being nice. First off the place is tucked away and there's no light on the sign where you need to turn. It's down a little side street, and not well lit. The parking lot was dark, there were lights out everywhere. It didn;t feel safe. The servers were in un-ironed shirts, all wrinkled, one had an Ozzy Osborne tee under her wrinkled white shirt. The food was not edible. Appetizer was scallops, I got one in my mouth and it tasted like iodine, most definitely bad, old seafood. For the dinner we had a choice of Prime Rib, Mahi Mahi, or Chicken. There was a selection of each at my table. I have the Prime Rib. It was paper thin, had no taste, and was tough. They didn't even bring a sharp knife with the steak. I dare say that trying to cut though that piece of meat with a butter knife was like trying to carve granite with a plastic spoon. The girl that ordered the chicken said it was terrible. Her mother took a piece and tasted it and was looking for something to spit it out into. It wasn??t cooked. The Fish dish was bland. The gentleman that got that gave me a piece and I bit into it and hot water ran out. AWFUL! The desserts weren??t any better. They brought one carafe each of coffee to the table, Caf and Decaf and one small creamer with milk. Now there were 12 people at each table. When it ran out I asked about getting some more (it was the only thing even close to being edible the entire night). The waitress said she would bring more. When she came back she said the carafe was half full, and that was the end of it. I said are they making more? She said ??I don??t know, I have to ask? Holy Crow!!! The open bar was still going on and they weren??t going to serve any more coffee! ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? All I can say is I didn??t have to worry about my diet attending a wedding at this place! Some people were talking about getting a pizza when they left, we were hoping to hit a Dinner on the way home.

My fiance and I looked here as a possible wedding venue. This venue is quite pretty for a wedding. It sits on the banks of Farrington Lake in East Brunswick NJ and has an awesome outdoor lakeside ceremony site. The indoor area for the reception is quite pretty, albeit a litle oddly setup, with 2 sides of HUGE windows that look out at the ceremony site and lake area.

The cocktail hour is held on the patio, weather permitting, which is a lovely feature. However, the trouble is if the weather does not cooperate ...everything (ceremony, cocktails and reception) take place in one room with breakdown going on in front of your guests.

The food is rumored to be good and the wedding menu was sufficient for the pricing.

The two most disappointing items were (1) the outside decor as you pull into the parking lot the front of the building is somewhat drab and dated (2) a bridal house (instead of bridal suite) is mentioned and fits up to 50 people and has a pool table. The pool table is tiny, but it's also in a tiny room. And the furniture and decor in the bridal house is both dated and not kept up with well. Lastly when we went (June 2006) there was a strong musty/mildew odor to the house and several broken window pains. The place really needs a ladies touch and is obvious it lacks it. (Two men, the owner and a grounds keeper care for everything and seem a little lax in the frequency of upkeep, especially for the bridal house). (3) There's about 4 or so fountains most of which are little sad as they do not pump water well enough to be a fountain.

PROS: Lakeview, pricing, friendliness
CONS: Bridal house, outside decor, fountains
