Our philosophy is one of simplicity: well poured drinks, reasonable prices, good music, a comfortable setting and great service. The music is a Rock & Roll format from 1960 to today with a mix of 80's and hip-hop. All beers are served in cans and are submerged in ice 24 hours a day. No sweaty bottles or gummy labels. Whiskey Town also has 2 flat-screen TV's for events that are worth watching. We offer Bottle Service but in a Wild West sort of way: Bottles of Whiskey only, 375 ml. size, no mixers, glasses and ice. We also offer Coolers which holds 6 beers on ice for table service. We accept reservations from 8 to 80 people. Tables can be reserved at no charge with no minimum. Please call or contact George or E-Mail for reservations
Great place to meet up with friends and make new friends...I love this bar. Whiskey Tavern is another great place owned by the same crew. The big difference between the two bars is Tavern has food...really, really good food.
Pros: Good Strong Drinks, George & Justin, The Rita Moreno
Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Really, thank you guys so much :) I can't thank you enough for showing me your hatred and banning me from your bar. I will make sure I recommend every friend of mine who is new to NYC not to go anywhere near your institution with a 100-foot pole, because of your discrimination policies and cold demeanor towards customers who wish nothing more than to do good business with you guys. Much appreciated. Have a good day- I'm sure I'll see you around.
Sincerely,
That Dude Who You Banned.
Cons: They Are Horrible

Good drinks, awesome music and not pretentious in the least. I had such a great time hanging out here and dancing with my friends that we already planned on coming back. Did I mention cutest bartender ever?
Pros: Great music, good drinks and cute bartender.
Cons: None.

I recently went to whiskey town after a dinner with a date. The owner George is super cool. He actually carded me which made me extremely happy (i am certainly over 21!) The drinks were stong, the atmosphere was chill, and he even bought us a round of shots for free. Definitely a chill place. I will be back.
Pros: Cool bar

The location is good. The prices are not cheap. $5 for a 12 oz can of bud. I should at least get a glass and at the minimum a PINT of beer. The staff comes around too often tying to clean-up. Don't get me wrong I like good service but when my friends keep asking each other to make sure their beers don't get thrown out that's a problem. The music sucked. Why a DJ who plays everything under the sun? They would be better off with a jukebox. The one good aspect of this bar is the restroom which is very clean.
Pros: Clean restrooms
Cons: Expensive drinks, DJ was horrible, Service was terrible

One of my big pet peeves when it comes to bars is that they try to be something they're not, or they try to be everything to everyone. After reading about Whiskey Town, I was excited to go there for a friend's birthday party. Given it's location in the East VIllage, the atmosphere it is attempting, and the style of serving beer in a can, the prices should have been much lower. The whiskey specials especially... I mean, isn't there whiskey in the name of the bar?
Also, it said it was a rock 'n roll bar, but there was a DJ. Why not a juke box? This seems like the place for a juke box and darts, but it didn't have either. The DJ wouldn't have been so bad if he wasn't playing a bunch of rap, contrary to what the description said. He also couldn't keep one song on past a verse, mixing strange combos like going from Kenny Rodgers to Jay-Z. I mean, seriously... wtf? Okay, so this was just one particular night, but if the bar is shooting for one identity it shouldn't stray. If it wants to be just like every other bar, that's fine too.
Overall I enjoyed myself while I was there, but I would have stayed longer if the prices were lower. Considering there are plenty of places within a block or two that are cheaper, I can't say that there was anything special about this bar to justify paying more. The beer in a can should be less expensive, not more. Anyway, good but could use some improvements.

i really love this bar. why? because i can show up any day of the week and have a great time. the bartenders are the best; they know their drinks and are friendly and cool. its no nonsense! i've brought work friends in for drinks in a small group, i've been there for a drink with just one friend, and i've been for a friend's party. it's a really fun place to visit for any reason. you really can't find many places like this these days, with really good service and a totally cool atmosphere.
they don't serve food at this point but are happy to share their stack of delivery menus with you to order in. the DJ's are great there is a cool jazz band on tuesdays.
for a while there was one problem: too many people and too few bathrooms. luckily, they just fixed this and doubled the bathroom size. now it's all good!
Pros: the gold and black booths have hidden cubby holes underneath for coats!

I really like this place, my friends and I stumbled upon it one night while bar hopping and we instantly fell in love with the place.
We stumbled in and found a nice comfortable atmosphere, good music was playing, enjoyable but not too loud to where you had to scream to other people to talk. There is a bar w/ a few seats and a couple of tables, the tables are somewhat closed in so it doesn't feel like your being crowded in. Even with a lot of people there it doesn't feel crowded, the crowd is cool, no scumbags, and bathrooms are clean.
The drinks were mixed well, and from what i remembered affordable. They have shots + beer combos for around 10 bucks which is not bad at all. All the beer is in cans and iced which gives the whole place a nice relaxed feeling, and they also have little beer cozies to keep your hands warm and the beer cold (Which you can buy!! Its a nice little souvenir). The bartenders are very cool, they know their drinks and they don't rip you off, you get what you pay for. The two brothers that own the place are there regularly and are very cool guys, very relaxed and chill.
I don't know what it is but the place has this vibe to it, relaxed, and definitely a cool place to bring some friends and just chill out. I would highly recommend it to all crowds and ages.
Pros: Comfortable, Great service, Good music, Cool People, Clean
Cons: No food (I think, didn't see a menu)

I live down the street, and have been to whiskey town on a few occasions for birthday parties or just a few drinks at the end of the night. It's definitely a no hassle bar. Even when it's crowded, you get your drinks fast and strong. The prices are a little steep for the east village, but if you compare glass sizes, you're actually getting a deal. Once the initial shock wears off, you and your friends will get nice and toasted. The upper banquette is really cozy and great for parties, and NO COVER FOR TABLE. (BTW, talk about subliminal messages. The whiskey town tv is flippin hypnotizing. It just loops images of whiskey and rock and roll bands)
Pros: good stiff drinks, fast service
