WORST SHOP HANDS DOWN PERIOD, had my bike for two years for a engine rebuild! Got the bike back, clutch didn't work had to bring it back! They lost parts that to date I still never got back! The engine never ran right, oil leaks, burning oil, they didn't even use new gaskets! Had to have another shop fix many problems, cooling fan didn't go on anymore, oil intake from inside oil pan was clogged with silicone, loose bolts inside airbox, radiator hoses were loose, rear axle saftey pin was missing with the axle bolt hand tight, exhaust pipe springs were left off and I put them on myself, the carbs were very dirty and had to be done all over again, fork seal leaked like a faucet, they tried to coat the tank and clogged all the holes...had another company dip the tank to remove the coating, the neg batt wire wasn't even botled down...just loose and connected to nothing! I can go on and on......I paid over another 1000.00 to get the bike right!!! Gary always has a excuse for EVERYTHING!!! I can't wait to hear him justify himself with a bs reply to this reveiw! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!! U HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

The BBB said I handled the matter in a PROFFESIONAL way, so now this childish man with poor judgement has goen all over the web trying to dissrespect me and ruin my reputation. So for anyone wanting to know the real story email me at gary@marescycle.com OR better yet check out the BBB website and read about the case. When he lost he went everywhere to try to ruin me to no avail I do work very few people do and my customer base is strong so Mr J. Greggory Higgins keep up your childish ways let your customers know when they search your name that you are childish., Mares cycle has ALWAYS TRIED to satisfy custromers but out of the thousands served you get a child or two.

Mares has been doing bike repairs since the early 70's.
They offer the best and fairest pricing i have ever seen.
The repairs are quality and fully guaranteed. I have been going to Gary and his father since they started good people, good morals i recommend them highly

THE MORE PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN, THE MORE THAT THE AG WILL TAKE NOTICE, AND PREVENT MR. MARES FROM COMMITTING THE SAME ACTS AGAINST OTHERS BY DENYING HIM A BUSINESS LICENSE AND MAY EVEN FILE A CLAIM SEEKING RESTITUTION. THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 COMPLAINTS FILED AS OF THIS WRITING. I provided my bike to Mares for upgrades on 9/17/2009. Mares had my bike for 10 months. He was swapping out gauges, a headlight, and directional lights. He approved the parts by email or phone, and when I dropped off the bike, he reviewed the parts. He had the bike for months, but as it was winter, I wasn't that upset. Couldn't ride anyway. Thought he was at least working on it though! I started to seek return of the Bike in March getting concerned, and Mares made multiple/continual promises over 3 months to do so, which he never met. Claimed various calamities that caused delays. From early June to end of July, he did not return email or calls. Had to call Police to get him to answer me. He denied me the use of my Bike for at least 4.5 months. This job was beyond his knowledge, and for whatever reason, he could not complete it, and in fact did more damage. He scratched newly painted surfaces all over the bike. Then he insulted me by basically saying that since I had done it myself and it wasn't body shop quality, what was the big deal! Except for the headlight, all other lights on the bike didn't work, and they did when he received the bike. He left the horns cut and in a box. When I brought him the bike, it was clean enough to eat off of. When I picked it up, it was obvious it was out in the rain, as it had dirt all over the bottom half as what occurs when rain spatters dirt onto objects in a dirt driveway. I had just painted the entire engine, and it was spotless! He didn't properly drain and prep the Bike for storage, and the carbs became varnished. When I made a BBB complaint, he alleged for the first time that the reason it was so long was that I bought the wrong parts. He never claimed that for the previous 9 months while he worked on it and continuously promised it would be ready "soon"!
Likes to portray his customers as unreasonable and the source of his poor performance. He will claim me as an unreasonable customer. You can see that this is his common statement about customers at Google. His business is now closed, presumably as all his customers, like me, are all unreasonable! He will have a different set of facts in his responses to reviews, but I have proof from his own hand by way of email messages and voicemails and pictures showing I am telling the truth here. I also have an estimate from another shop that lists the inept work as the cause of more repairs, and a copy of the BBB complaint and his responses. You can read all this and judge for yourself.
