I went to Saint Augustine school when I was younger and absolutely loved it there and am still in contact with some of my friends from there. Although some teachers have sinced retired and new teachers have come in, I still hear good things about the school. Children attend mass once a week and your child doesn't have to be Catholic in order to be accepted, although the majority of students are Catholic. The Church is right on school grounds, so don't worry about having your children having to walk across any busy streets. In my classes when I was younger, at least two students were not Catholic. Class size ranges from the high teens to high twenties, from K-8. Lower grades usually have a teacher's aide present to help with keeping the class in order and to assist the children in learning. Lunch food could probably be a bit healthier...it's your typical elementary school cafeteria. The school also has plenty of extracurricular clubs and teams, after school activities/day care, a huge playing field and blacktop for outdoor recess, huge gymnasium with a stage, music room, library, preK 3 and preK4. They also run a summer camp for children. Highly recommended. If I ever have kids and am still in the area, I'd send them there too!
