Casal's De Spa & Salon

I have been going to Casal's in Canfield for over 6 years now on a regular basis. I have ALWAYS been extremely satisfied with the results. IN fact, I have NEVER seen anyone leave Casal's looking poorly! Don't let the negative nancys of the world keep you from trying a fantastic salon! These employees truly care. When my daughter was involved in Hurricane Katrina, "one of my girls" donated a significant amount of hair care services to help out! Non caring? I don't think so. Every stylist I have ever encountered cares about you as a person. It is always a warm friendly hello when you come in.. Try this salon.. The look you desire is the look they achieve! I would not have been going this long for less than fabulous work! Keep up the great job Ladies and Gentlemen!

I've been going to Casal's since it opened but the last maybe 6 times I've gone it has been a horrible experience. They are always booking too many people, and the whole "spa" experience feels so rushed. The last time I went ( Thursday June 25th) was the worst. I requested to dye my waist long hair back to black because it has faded. The colorist was fine until she proceeded to rip and pull at my hair until my eyes watered. I saw actual pieces of my hair get ripped out. While washing my hair I saw the girl roll her eyes, and another stylist laugh and look at me? She also didn't put a town down for my neck while washing my hair so it hurt my neck so badly I have a lump and a bruise there now. After getting a closer look at my dyed hair I noticed black dye all over my skin and she actually dyed the peach fuzz on my face black. I will NEVER go back. Too much $$$ for crappy disrespectful service.

I have gone to Casal's in Canfield since I was little. My mom has always went there and we have never had a bad experience. It is sad to here other people were not satisfied, but don't let their reviews scare you. I always schedule with whatever stylist or colorist is available and have never been disappointed. The staff has always been great. A few times I have had to wait 10-15 minutes when I got there, but it's worth it when you leave. The products are wonderful and everyone is extremely helpful!

We had a ladies day out on March 2, 2009 and decided to go to Casal's for mani's and pedi's. What a waste of money!!!!
They ended up charging us $65 for a pedicure! The worst part is that I had a blister on my foot when i went in and when I left the skin was still hanging there. They rushed through it and didnt bother making sure they did a good job sanding/filing our feet! The french tips look horrible as well!!!
It was supposed to be an hour long and we spent the first 30 min just sitting there with our feet soaking, we had no idea where anyone was. They just took us back, said go ahead and soak your feet and left for half an hour. What a joke!
Im very disappointed and will not go back for any type of service.

I've always gone to the Canfield location for manicures, but recently, I had to go to the howland location. The technician was not very nice, was not helpful to me at all. She was very rough during the manicure, and in clipping my non-existent cuticles (I've never had much in the way of cuticle) she cut the skin, drawing blood. THEN she used polish remover on freshly cut skin. Then, when applying the polish, she put it on so thickly, it bubbled. When I complained, she didn't remove it, she just added more. As soon as I got home, I redid the polish. What a waste of money. I'll stick to Canfield from now on.

I used to just go to Great Cuts for my haircuts, but decided to try an actual salon and picked Casal's. The first time I went I was very satisfied and couldn't wait to go back. She cut my hair exactly how I told her to. 2 weeks later I went back for a consultation ONLY appointment and the specialist said there were a few spots that needed fixed. I figured since I am no hair stylist I would let her make necessary changes. HOWEVER, when I did my hair the next morning I discovered a straight up butcher job. I have been trying to grow my hair out for years and that is why there were NO layers in my hair, as I had requested 2 weeks prior. I HAD planned on doing some great things to my hair once it was ALL ONE length, hence the no layers, because I plan on being married within the next year. Now i have all kinds of layers that I did not want, and hate very much. Not to mention the fact that my already fine hair has been excessively reduced to thin hair. And to make matters worse, I look like Carol Brady. I spent all night and morning crying and the worst part is, is that I can't even go back to have it "fixed" because there IS NOTHING to fix. I would have to shave my head. And my hair grows so slowly, that, needless to say, I will have crap hair for my wedding and consequently will never go back to Casal's. Oh, and whatever products she used on my hair, I CANNOT get the smell out (even after 3 shampoos within 12 hours!) and have had a nonstop sinus headache for almost 24 hours. She was a great person, but after seeing what she has done with the hair that I once loved, there is NO WAY I am spending over a thousand dollars to have her do what I originally came there for. no way in hell.

I had gone to the same stylist a couple times while visiting family and was happy with the results, so I made a trial-run appointment for my wedding. The trial hair was perfect, and stayed in place for well over 24 hours. On my wedding day, they had an inexperienced girl help my stylist because they overbooked themselves and were in a hurry. My hair was completely ruined in the time it took to drive back to Austintown from Canfield! The curls that had lasted forever after my trial run had fallen out, and my hair was stick straight. I could have saved myself the expense of TWO appointments and just woke up and brushed my hair!!! In fact, that would have been better than the slightly greasy look from all the product they put in my hair. And when we tried to call to complain, they brushed us off and said oh well, too bad, sorry 'bout your luck. No sympathy, understanding, or offer of restitution!!

I received a perm at the Howland Casal's. (long hair) Parts of the perm fell out...the perm and cut was inconsistent and bad overall. I contacted them and they told me to wait a week to see if it looked better. After a week, it didn't look better, so I called them and they told me to come in and they would try to fix it. When I got there, I was informed with much attitude that they would fix it but it would cost me. I was in tears and they didn't care at all. It was one thing to make a mistake, it is another to charge me for it. I just left and went to my regular stylist and she tried to fix it. I should have never tried Casal's! I highly recommend that you STAY AWAY from Casal's if you are considering trying it. You are taking your chances if you have a bad experience. I believe you can tell how good a business is not only by the good experiences people have but by how a business handles it when a customer has a bad experience.

I never was that satisfied with the service, I have had better massages at the massotherapy schools. Was never happy with updo's or haircuts recieved there either. Rude pushy attitude as well each time. Will never waste my money there again.

I have received good service most of the time. However, I feel the prices are too high. The last time, I was there just to get roots touched up. After being shampooed, the colorist's assistant just took my cape and towel and told me I could leave. I have middle-back length hair and he did not even offer to comb it out. I had to go into the bathroom and comb it out myself. Otherwise, I would have been walking out with a mass of tangled hair! I was in disbelief considering what they charge. Makes me think twice about going back.

My husband and I go to Casals in Boardman twice a year for Pair Massages. We have been going for the past 5 years. It is the most wonderful, relaxing, and intimate time spent. We recommend it to all of our friends and give it the BEST review. We actually live closer to the Howland location now, but we still go to the Boardman location because of their wonderful service!!! We recomend it to everyone!

It was everything I expected and more! I got the best haircut/color ever--and was treated with such respect. They took so much time with me and were just awesome. I think the prices are really reasonable--in fact, I made appointments to take my kids now. I live in PA, but it's well worth the trip :-).

Casals has always been a nice salon that did excellent work, but its only improved over its long tenure in Canfield. The new, larger facility is impressive, and the services have increased to include the latest spa treatments. Its sooooo relaxing to go there for even one treatment, but a day of services is heaven.

I visited Casals in Howland, Ohio last week for a hair cut and full highlights. I have always been wary of highlights because I have seen many bad jobs. Casals welcomed me in. I was greeted by the stylist and color ladies. They asked what I wanted and assured me that I would leave very happy. While there I received complimentary head massage, hand massage, peppermint/licorice tea, and a makeup touch up. I felt relaxed and wish I could have moved in permanetly. I left with the best haircut and the most beautiful and perfect highlights! What a day! There is no tipping so that is probably why it cost $95.00 for a cut and color.

PROS: It's not just a haircut! It a day of beauty!
CONS: just a little more $ than I would like to pay

A Casal's I was treated to fruit enhanced spring water and a foot soak while i waited for my massage therapist who was just the nicest, and extremely qualified person I could have gotten on that day. I was able to release all my tensions and totaly enjoy my body polisy,oil massage and shower experience; she worked on me from head to toe and let me choose my essence so I was totally grounded.

PROS: great service, staff
CONS: far from where Ilive
