When my daughter when she was 9 weeks old had to stay at this hospital for a surgery they said she needed. Turns out the surgery did not fix her problem and just masked it more. The nurses were ok, had a couple that could of cared less. But we had one that was awesome! I was losing my mind one day and she sat and cried about my baby with me!

The do have tv's and video's for the kids. One problem we had was for the surgery my daugher had to not have anything to drink for 10 hours before. So we did that and waited. She went without anything but the IV from 12 at night until 5 pm the next day and then they cancelled her surgery! I have never been so mad in my whole life! She screamed for about 10 hours straight, scratching anyone holding her. It took my husband, myself and my mother all those hours and nothing would calm her. The hospital really didn't care less that day. They rescheduled for the next day 1st patient. They need to not make babies suffer & starve for no reason! If you have such a problem threaten to call the complaint department of the hospital this really seemed to get the doctor's moving! lol

This is the place to go if you are ailing. The one thing to remember, and not to complain about later, is that this is a teaching hospital. All too often, patients are heard complaining about students working on them. As a patient, I appreciate this. I have had conditions diagnosed and treated here that other facilities have missed after repeated attempts. Words cannot decsribe the strides this place continues to make. Patients should and usually do feel lucky to have access to this place.

I gave birth to my beautiful daughter at this medical center, and have been there on several other instances, as well. While I think the ER leaves much to be desired, my experience of childbirth was a different story. The labor and delivery room was large and cozy--as cozy as such a room can be, that is. After birth, we were moved to the recovery room--where I stayed until I was discharged. This room was basic, simple; it did have a chair that unfolded into a makeshift bed for my husband.

What I want to say most about my experience is the wonderful, wonderful nurses. I think I only had one nurse my entire stay who was not above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty fantastic. They did come in every couple hours to check on me medically, and while I grumbled about it then (hello! I was just up all night giving birth!), I can't fault them for it! They were so helpful (as was the in-house lactation consultant) in establishing my breastfeeding with my daughter . I had to press the emergency call button once, and immediately, several nurses rushed into my room.

One thing to remember is that this is a teaching hospital, so you must expect medical students and interns. The ones I met during my stay were just as sweet as the nurses, and very eager to learn. They were not a bother and never made me feel uncomfortable.
