Sewanee libtards are some of the most inappropriate people to be involved with education. They are IDEOLOGICALLY INAPPROPRIATE as educators!!

Many things have gotten worse because of the bad management. The communication & marketing director was particularly cancerous. She was an overly dogmatic and autocratic person for the communication & marketing director. She only saw people around her as something to take advantage of and mostly ignored feeling and ideas of people. Despite being only the communication & marketing director (not the headmistress or the dean of faculty/students), she tried to control everything around her in her dogmatic sense and annoyed many teachers and students. She considered students as her pets or something. She was happy when students acted and performed as the way she expected but wasnt pleased and tried to control the students when they didnt act the way she desired. She excessively used students and teachers for her propaganda to make the school look better (in her dogmatic sense) and her own good regardless of their intention or sentiment and without their permission. She had no sense of respect or privacy toward people around her when she was using them for her propaganda. When she tried to make the school look better, she only cared about the appearance and ignored what was actually going on or how other people were actually doing or feeling. She also thought that showing off and revealing the privacy of people at the school on social media or the internet, which could sometimes be offensive for those who had their privacy revealed, was a good way to advertise. What she did to make the school look better mostly made things worse ironically. I couldnt understand why the faculty members in higher positions or the board of trustees let her run wild. Its sad and disappointing to see the school being deteriorated due to their poor ability to make changes and advertise themselves.

The ESL teacher was really racist and bigoted against students from a particular country. She did not respect the way we were. She did not want us to be ourselves or be happy. She turned a blind eye on racism against students from our country by other teachers and students. However, she did not act the same way for international students from countries other than ours. She was more respectful and lenient with other international students. She changes attitude depending on what country students are from. We did NOT like her!

I went to SAS in the late 1990's. At that time, the school was very xenophobic and discriminatory against international students. The school limited the freedom of international students. For example, the school told international students not to hang around with each other, and not to use their own languages. Some teachers even punished international students for becoming friends with each other and tried to separate their friendships. The school was very disrespectuful to international students. If this kind of thing happens in my home country, it will be considered as violation of human rights. When I was a student there, I always felt as if I were a slave of the school.

The school keeps saying that they will not harass students based on origins or races, but it is not true. The school was actually harassing international students and certain races. Some people hated students from certain countries, or of certain races, and showed their hatred straightforwardly.

Also, the size of the community was so small that the atmosphere was very exclusive. The location was too incovenient. The majority forced their values on others. The environment was really bad for international students.

If the school hates foreigners so much, they should stop accepting international students. This school is not a right place for minorities especially someone who is from outside the U.S. and is not a native English speaker. I definitely would not recommend this school for non-English speaking people.
