Bangkok Street Food
- Authentic Thai cuisine
- Lunch & Dinner
- Delivery available
In Thai, Klong means canal. Many of Thailand's Klongs are relaxing sites of refuge and escapes from the stressors of the city. Klong, on the East Village's frenetic St. Marks Place, is a respite from stress. Upon arrival our customers enter under a curved, undulating golden ribbon cast of smoothly polished steel. Hundres of feet of the dynamic, Earth toned ribbon travel from the entrance to every corner of the restaurant, surrounding our diners with a secure and calm energy.
The childhood experiences of our owners, a group who grew up in Bangkok in the 70s shape much of what Klong is today, particulary in our cuisine. Klong features a medley of fantastic street foods of Bangkok including Pad Thai or Som Tum, to name a few.

Nice little Thai getaway
I was introduced to Klong by a friend who raved about the food there and how modest the prices are. I've been there about three times now and I have to be honest, it has gotten worst the more I went. I loved the food the first time. I had their house special pad thai, the klong pad thai, the first time and found it to be really great. Their Thai tea was good as well. The next two times I felt the quality of the food had diminished and my friends who I brought along had nothing good to say about it. I'm giving this a three star because I feel I might have gone on the wrong days the past 2 times.

Great food
If your looking for a nice cozy place to take a date then this is your spot. Its great thai food at a modest price while offering some traditional & newage food. The place is a little hard to find since it is below street level. I would recommend taking the phone number just incase you get lost. Chicken Pad Thai was amazing, and they have a vast amount of drink specials. A+

Thai food
Located in the heart of St Marks, Klong provides a unique experience for those that want good asian cuisine for a good price too.
You can get some good feedback on their thai food if you were a newbie like me . The environment is very soothing, with water falling off the wall in the background to the sensual music in the background. My only crits are that the music does not match the mood whatsoever- listening to soft euro beats in an asian place doesn't fit in. That and the cook tends to forget what the specifications of your orders are. The lunch specials are great for those who want a meal for about 7 bucks.

Try new things like me
Yeah my first trip to Klongs was a random attempt to try something new. It really introduces you into the world of thai food or atleast I think so. However the culture clash makes it a little hard to know what you'd like to stomach. So you gotta be random and hope you order something you like.
If you order something you dont have the taste for, you'll most likely regret it and have 8 bucks average peeled from your pockets. Depending on who's there you may get free water refills everytime you take a sip.
The music is soothing sometimes but doesn't always match with the beautiful scenery. If your 40 years of age, desperate and plan on meeting a woman off the internet, it's a great place for a first impression. However they dont ask you if you'd like drinks or not and when you do order soda, it taste very watered down and winds up a waste of money. Klong would be much better if they had non alchoholic drinks that went well with the food. Lots of slightly under aged youngers go through the neighborhood and will most likely have to be stuck with it.
It's a real good qaulity resturaunt though, the service however just seems a little random.
PROS: good qaulity place
CONS: drinks suck, ordering is weird

Best thai
I have been coming here for several years now. I have dragged all my friends in here, and they have done the same for their friends and coworkers and families. the place is addictive. It leaves you craving for more. I LOVE it. I love everything from the service to the drinks and obviously the food. MMM. Especially love their tuna tartare and baby squid legs. Seriously perfect. No cons.
Pros: really delicious thai food, great drinks, service, great value
Cons: i have nothing to complain about

Great find all around
This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is really amazing and the atmosphere is very hip and pleasant. Its a fairly large, dimly lit place, and its usually packed on the weekeekends. there is usually atleast a 10 minute wait but its worth it! great place to go with friends.
Pros: great food, prices, atmosphere
Cons: pretty full, especially around the bar

Affordable but food is inconsistent
Tasty and affordable food in St. Marks. Cheap drinks. Only $4 a beer. Great mixed drinks. The Lamb El Saan is very good. The other Lamb with chili sauce wasn't so good. Maybe the consistency is not there. Seating for large group (6 or more people) is awful. You get put in the back near the open kitchen. Seats are better for 2 or 4 people. However, this is a great place.
Pros: Affordable and tasty food.
Cons: Horrible seating for groups.

Best Thai in town
The food is absolutely fantastic here. Everything tastes light, fresh, and delicious, especially the staple pad thai and the fantastic key lime pie (best I've ever had). I have eaten here on many occasions, and get delivery frequently, and the food is always well prepared and the service impeccable.
The restaurant can get very crowded, and some of the seats aren't the most comfortable in the world, but the food, service, and general atmosphere all make up for that slight inconvenience.
