I loved the place! The seafood and crabs were great! Then after dinner we stayed at the outside bar and listened to music. The staff was friendly and Andy was trip, kept us entertained. We will be back!

A notorious tourist trap that relies upon its choice location to draw business. And oh, does it draw business: much more than its (rude, inattentive) staff can handle, or even care to!

And when the food comes - although you'll be starving by the time it arrives - it's mediocre at best and probably tepid, if not cold.

Not a place we'd return to. Look around - there are MUCH better places to enjoy Maryland's seafood in Baltimore.

If we could give this place no stars, we would, but Insider requires at least one. So one it is. Like the food and the service: minimal.

I would not eat here if you appreciate cleanliness or wish to be served under one hour. The place is too busy for their staff to manage. They cannot keep the tables clean, the food warm, or the wait line in order. Be advised that there are much better places to get crabs in Baltimore.

Being new to the Baltimore area Nick's Fish House was recommended to us for moderately priced by the water dining. The hostesses both rolled their eyes at us when we asked for a table of 5. We said we didn't mind waiting. The place had a nice atmosphere and a nice on the water location but that was it. We were sat in 10-15 minutes (not bad since it was busy). Our waitress was friendly but our drinks took over 10 minutes and our appetizer took 20-25 minutes. People around us kept getting sat and while they were sat 30 minutes after us their food arrived before ours. At this point the waitress had not even been to our table in the past 20-30 minutes. I started getting angry realizing how everyone around us was eating even though we were the first table to be sat in the entire section. I asked for a manger and expected some compensation (free meals, something), hour long ticket times are not acceptable especially when you have 3 kids with you. The manger took 10 minutes to come to our table and didn't seem to care that the food was taking so long. When I asked what he could do for us he said "buy us a round of drinks." Forget it, we got up and left them to eat our drink, appetizer, and food that was probably ready bill. He would have much better off comping our some of our meal and making us happy instead of throwing his money down the toilet and making us unhappy. When we got to our car it had been 1 hour and 20 minutes since we were sat at our table and our food had still not arrived. As another reviewer stated the management does not care if the customers are happy or not. The wait staff is not attentive. A great location and cool atmosphere will only get you so far if you have inattentive waitstaff and management that does not care about the customers. I would strongly advise against trying this restaurant. I suspect there are other locations in Baltimore that have both a nice water front location and good service.

Some friends and I had a reservation set for 7:30, however, no one at the restaurant told us that the reservations were only for inside. So in turn we had to wait until a table on the deck was available and didn't get seated until about 8:15. I was expecting a lot better service from a restaurant rated as one of the city's best. The service was slow (took almost 1 1/2 hours to get our food), not to mention that another table that arrived after us, got served before us (I won't speculate as to why that happened) but when we finally did get served, the food wasn't all served at the same time and some of our food was brought out cold, the drinks were watered down, the white fish was rubbery and undercooked, the crab cakes had shells although the shrimp and scallops were both good. During our 1 1/2 hour wait for our food, we decided to speak to the manager, not only did she try to patronize us, she then turned her back on us and walked away. I guess having extremely slow service and angry customers doesn't matter to some establishments. Overall, I'd rate this place a 1/5 stars, if they hired more respectful managers who actually cared about their customers, maybe they'd get a higher rating, but I would strongly advise against this place. If you want good seafood, go to Phillips, their seafood buffet is really good.

The dining room is open and airy with views of the water from most of the tables. The food was delicious and the service was good. The best attribute is the outside dining deck and bar. It screams the essence of Maryland in the summer. Salty smell from the water, crabs hot and steamy on the tables - love that old bay, people hanging out at the bar having fun, and a cool evening breeze. I would definately go back, but will wait until summer comes so I can go with a group of friends and hang out on the deck and enjoy some crabs and beer.

Nicks fish house is a great place to go for drinks after work. They have a bar inside and outside. The deck outside is really nice during the summer months. They also have good seafood, though it is a little pricey. I would recommend the place, even with high prices.

PROS: Nice atmosphere
CONS: Pricey food items
