I love them!
by Lindsey P.
Every major hair change that I have gone through in my life, as far as a short haircut, new hair look, and my wedding I was a walk in to Rafet's. Every time I have gone there they have taken care of me and it has almost always been a different stylist. They listened to my needs, wants, and made great suggestions. Every time I went I had a new hair color put in my hair. I am actually planning on going there again to go for another hair change. I hope it works out and they don't let me down.

Hair Masters is a scam
by Jane D.
Anyone that has gone to a Turkish hairdresser will eventually get tired of them overpricing you. They always try to charge more then what the brochure says. I worked for Turks.. OMG Big time capitalist, and you might want to check for valid barber or cosmo licenses? FYI....... Pushy Pushy Men!!!

Worst haircut ever
by Julianne S.
I went to Virginia at the mall in Columbia. She usually always did a good job with my hair. This time it was an epic failure. I asked for shorter hair in the back to longer in the front. An asymmetrical bob, going diagonally forward. Apparently she didn't understand, because when she was finished, my hair was chopped to my chin in one length, and it is shorter on one side than on the other. I feel like if they fix it it will be way too short, so I have to suffer with uneven hair for weeks until it grows out a little. I refused to pay for my haircut and I didn't tip her. She tried to convince me that she didn't do anything wrong, which just made me more angry. Honestly, I haven't cried over my hair in years, and this is enough of a bad look that I cried like a baby in that salon. I will never go there again.

Time of my life
by Jackie P.
I went to Rafet's Hairmasters in desire of a new me, I wanted to get a new color as well as a new cut. I saw the stylist Irfan (Igi) for the first time. He was exceptional! He listened to excatly what I wanted as well as put in some great suggestions. Needless to say I feel great! I got a fantastic cut and style and a one of a kind color! Also, the shampoo staff was very friendly and attended to everyone of the needs that I required. Needless to say they have earned the business of me and all my friends and family!!!

Worst Hair Cut EVER
by T B.
I got home, checked the back of my head and it is - I can honestly say - the worst haircut ever (Alex did it). How hard is it to do long layers? Apparently very. Now I know why he didn't offer to show me the back - and silly me - i forgot to ask. Never again! Am headed there now for them to make it right (financially - won't let anybody there come close to my head with a pair of sissors). ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH.

Pushy salesman
by Anonymous
The stylists in the salon are talented but it is evident that Mr. Rafet cares more about lining his pockets with money than true customer service. Everytime I have used this salon, he has tried selling me services I don't want and jested that the hairdresser should be charging me double the amount than what is documented in their brochure. Such an aggresive pursuit of capitalist gain is very unattractive and does not make for a relaxing and rejuvinating trip to the salon.

You Truly Get What You Pay For
by Mary C.
Narjis (spelling? sorry) has been doing my hair for at least 4 to 5 years. When I've gone other places or had friends do my hair, it just never is the same.
She makes my hair look great and always gets the coloring just right.
It is well worth the expense. You truly do get what you pay for and more.
I love the coffee too. Also, one night I had a really bad stress headache and the girl who washed my hair kept massaging the bottom of the back of my head. I felt so much better after that.
What a great place!!

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Patricia J.
I have been a client of Rafet's for approximately 9 years and I will never leave. I'm with Mahmut. He always knows just what I want and adds color I was always to aftraid of trying, and I love it each and every time. I also get my eyebrows waxed there too, by Turkan. It usually cost about $150.00 for a cut and foil highlight, but it's TOTALLY worth it! I hope you guys love them as much as I do.

Jenny at Rafet's in Columbia is great!
by Anonymous
I've been going to Jenny at Rafet's Hair Masters in Columbia Mall for years. She is excellent with color, cut and styling. She listens well but also is amazing if you just say "Do what you want" (with or without guidelines or limitations). From observation, I'd say most of the stylists in there are great with color and the entire staff is pretty friendly. You can also typically be taken on short notice. Their rates are higher but you get what you pay for. Recommend Jenny at Rafet's highly!!!

Owings Mills Rafets

I went to the Owings Mills salon for 4 years. Only Jaime can do Black hair at that salon. There are no black hair products. I had to stop going because the hair products were drying out my hair. Black people need hair products with moisture in it. No one would listen!

OVERCHARGED
by Anonymous
Although Rafet is pleasant, he OVERCHARGES. I went in for a color and blowdry. Normally it costs $75 however, he charged me $95. He has lost the business of my entire family!

The best salon in Columbia
by Anonymous
I just moved here from Texas and when I entered the salon I was overwhelmed by the friendly people that work at Rafets. The stylists are all so talented not to mention friendly and kind. I walked out of Rafets feeling like a million dollars.I will be back to Rafets and I would be proud to recommend Rafets hair salon to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

Jamie colored my hair and it was a complete disaster. It begain shedding and breaking after the fact and he was impossible when I called to discuss the situation.
My recommendation - go somewhere else!

i like rafet's
by debbie g.
i have been going to rafet's for about 4 years. Sean (not spelled that way, because he's turkish) is great, especially if you have a photo. i started going to him after i had a bad experience in an upscale salon in baltmore and i have been very impressed. i've sent friends to him, and everyone agrees. he's not chatty, but that's fine with me. now that i know him though he does talk to me about his vacations, etc., if i ask.
PROS: Sean can duplicate any photo cut. competitive price (it's not hair cuttery
CONS: it does get crowded, and they won't let you add tip to credit card charges.

Good Haircuts..........
by Pamela S.
But I would not recommend getting anything else done! Had a horrible experience with an up-do & will not go back for anything but a trim or highlights. Just make sure you specify your hair type & length when making an appointment.
PROS: Friendly & easily accessible-since it's in the mall
CONS: pricey, crowded

I went to Rafet's expecting a professional quality haircut, and I wasn't too impressed. I told my stylist I had an idea of what I wanted, and he made no move to provide any opinions or input. He seemed uninterested in interacting with me at all, actually. He didn't even ask me if I wanted my hair washed or blowdried. The shop is small and located in the top level of the Columbia mall. It is clean and professional enough, but with no special extras. My cut was around $30. I find that other salons do a better job for the same money.
