Angelo's 677 Prime

Albany has allot of great places to eat and to be honest allot of not so great too. Angelo Mazzone has really out done himself on this. Prime Steak house, its just that and more. First of all the look inside is great, very high style with a few accents that don't overwhelm the eye. A literal who's who have custom wine cabinets in the entrance that might surprise you as to what's inside. The bar is very fun, "Sam" knows how to make a cocktail and serves it with a smile!. Love those lamps on the Bar! Mary and Colin are usually at the door and seem to know everyones name. The waitstaff are a select group of the areas best. Menu is great. This is not an inexpensive option for dining. However I can tell you this. I would rather spend 100.00 for dinner and walk out feeling like I had a great meal, delicious food, great service, and remember the night as a real treat, rather than spend 75.00- 80.00 and leave just plan pissed I did not eat at home. This is a special occasion restaurant with proper everything!. They also have a few rooms upstairs for small parties. Not a steak lover??? the seafood and other options on the menu are just as good. My personal tops are the seafood array, and pepper pork as apps. Cowboy steak, and Tuna are usually what I select. The coconut cream pie is a heart attack on a plate but with the trip to the ER. and if you have a large group, try the Titanic, (made out of ice cream) or the truffle pop tree. I take my entire staff here for christmas and they look forward to it every year. I also celebrate very special occasions here. They have live entertainment and it can get a little loud. Valet service at the door. Expect to see political and social figures here because its the place to be.
I highly recommend this establishment. It's expensive but worth it. Make reservation ahead, they hate to turn people away but it can get a little busy in there on Friday, Saturday. They are closed on Sunday, not sure why.

Thanks Angelo for giving the Capitol Region a high end dining experience that can not be matched.
