This is a great store for anything you might need in comics, trading cards and role playing games. They have Warcraft tournaments every so often which is really neat. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful

I've been a Showcase customer for at least 16 years. I have always found each location better stocked than any other store in the area for comics, games, and (miniature-based) hobby supplies. The staff in each location is invariably knowledgeable, interested in the customer, and helpful. The owner is almost always at the Granite run shop, and has a deep knowledge of all the current popular games Showcase sells. He takes very good care of his customers, and is happy to teach people how to play any of a variety of games using the store's vast array of beautiful sample armies (for the miniature games). Modeling and terrain advice is also to be had, and one look at any of the stuff he's created for the store lets you know this someone worth listening to. Even Games Workshop does not produce terrain that is good as what Mike has at the Granite run store. That is saying something. The store is a must visit for anyone in the Philadelphia area who is a miniature wargames fan, and the comic selection is hard to beat, too.

Hi, Mike Clark here, from Showcase Comics. I noticed the review of my shop by Christopher P. and thought I'd put up a disenting opinion.

I work at my shop 7 days a week. I'm often there 70 hours or more. If he has been in my shop at all, he knows me. I've been selling comics for over 22 years, 17 years at this shop. I read 95% of all comics that come out, and have extensive knowledge on back issues and the history of comics. To say I don't know anything about comics just isn't true.

As to games, we carry a large selection of the best selling board games, RPG's, and beer and pretzel games. We carry a huge line of miniature wargames, scenery, paints, and gaming supplies. I've DM'ed for 30 years, own multiple armies for Warhammer, Warmachine, Flames of War and many other game systems. We run weekly free painting and modeling classes. I playtested Fallen Empires and Ice Ages for WOTC, and we had one of the first MTG tournaments ever held. Again, not sure why he says we don't sell games.

The accusations that we are souless and have unfair business practices just isn't true. I have no idea why he wants to slander my business, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. My shops reputation and my own are known to our customers, and his opinion won't change that.

Located in the Granite Run Mall, Showcase Comics is as much a hooby shop as it is a comic book shop. I'll usually pop my head in here and look around, but their selection of older comic books is somehwat lacking, with much of their focus on newer comics. That said, I've been able to go in here and pick up comics that are a couple months old (even hard to get issues that have already been marked up at other dealers.
