Pike Place Market CSA Basket

We used to eat fruit and veggies on a pretty regular basis, but since getting the CSA Market basket program, we have increased our consumption to pretty close to USDA recommendations. Every Week, we get a shopping bag (reusable of course) of whatever organic is in season. And it comes out to about $18 per week. Compared to what we used to spend at Whole Paycheck, it is a bargain. Granted we often get things that we normally wouldnt buy, like Kale and Fennel, but it challenges us to try new things. And now braised Kale and grilled Fennel are one of our favorites! Still out on the Kohlrabi, though. The program lasts 20 weeks in the summer, and we opted to get the flower share for an additional fee, which I would recommend. We pick it up at a downtown location, and it is pretty convenient.

PROS: Loads of Organic veggies, for the right price
CONS: You dont get to choose what is included
