The Varsity Theater is a wonderful place to bring the family to watch plays or musicals. I've seen a number by the Davis Musical Theater Company which are always a lot of fun. The Varsity also shows a few select movies, that are less mainstream but I believe they are more expensive than seeing a movie in the Regal Stadium theaters.

I loved the cozy 300 person room and all the community groups which participate here yearly, there are some truly amazing shows being put on here. I share the opinion of many though that acoustics need to be reworked, as it is simply atrocious at times and more than a teaspoon of sugar is needed to fix it. Lovely place regardless though.

Davis Musical Theatre is a local community group that puts on broadway shows. Helmed by director Steve Isaacson - this theatre does a wonderful job. I have seen numerous productions there - last year's "ANNIE" was outstanding. The little girl who played "ANNIE" should be on broadway - she was wonderful. The theatre seats about 300 people - the sound is not the best though. The orchestra sometimes drowns out the singers, but you can see how much the performers love what they're doing.

PROS: Good Productions
CONS: Orchestra is sometimes too loud

Varsity theater is a community-based theater that sticks a lot to tradition. A lot of different groups, from college fraternities and sororities to high school drama groups perform here to showcase their apprecation for the arts. The acousitics of the theater isn't that great, the use of microphones can be dangerous with a nervous MC, but it has great atmosphere.
