Gordo Taqueria

Everything about the food is amazing. First of all you can choose between various tortillas (plain, whole wheat, and i think they even have spinach and sun-dried tomato). They heat up your tortilla before putting everything on it. (Most places heat up the whole thing after, leaving you with warm slushy salsa and warm guacamole oozing all over everything--not cool.) The way they do it preserves the flavors and textures of each individual ingredient. Their veggies are fresh (not frozen) and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Their salsa and hot sauce is some of the best I've ever tasting. Not to mention the prices are incredible and the service is super fast. You can even call and order on your way there and just go straight to the cash register to pick it up. They'll have it ready for you!

The burrito's at Gordo's Taqueria on College Avene are some of the best I've ever had! The flavor of their rice and beans are so classic and tasty. I love the hot sauce too! The prices are totally reasonable and if you only have like a dollar you can still get a delicious quesadilla. Very highly recommended!

Gordo has a truly local flavour in its style of cooking. It is a terrific Mexican restaurant that uses traditional ingredients. You can but burritos, tacos or "Gordo plates" that can be carnitas, chicken or steak. It is a wonderful place!

Gordo's manages to retain the charm of a small taqueria despite actually being a chain. Their seafood burritos are amaing, as are their quesadillas. Highly Recommended

Gordo's is pretty much a staple in my diet. It's incredibly basic, but that's what makes it so good and reliable. Very delicious all the time.

They guys working there never seem terribly friendly, but the service is always great.

The place is really small and is more of a grab-n-go establishment so I can't count this as a fault.

Definitely one of the closest attempts at real Mexican style food. Highly recommended if you have a penchant for real burritos or real tacos.

Its undeniable that Gordo Taqueria on Collge Ave. has the best mexican food around town. Im no food critic but from what I can say having lived in Berkeley for 15 years, these are the best. The meat is cooked with such skill, the tortillas are so large, and every bite has you demanding more. I love Gordos, I love the atmosphere and I love the "All Meat" packed burrito with hot sauce, gaucomole, salsa, beans, jalepeos, sourcream, rice, and cheese that they serve me. GET YOURS TODAY!
