SHAME SHAME. If I could leave 0 stars I would. To call this a trail is a gross exaggeration. My wife and I recently moved here from Nashville, Tennessee and for what we pay the state in taxes, they should be ashamed of the job they do. The maps are inaccurate, the trails have many unmarked splits, and they are covered with debris. Perhaps the parks should have spent less on the plush buildings that their rangers (nap?) in and a little more money on the amenities the taxpayers utilize. We are a VERY active (and, might I add, seasoned) outdoor couple with post-doc educations, yet found ourselves behind an ARCHERY RANGE at one point!!!! It seems we will have to continue running our trails at Cherokee until we eventually (soon:) move across the river, taking our tax revenues with us. I highly recommend Deam Lake and state park.
My hole family gors to the Goose Creek Nature Trail for the suburban area trail, tree lined hike, along stream, open meadow. Near Louisville, Ky, distance: 1.5 miles round trip, elevation gain: 0 ft, hike time: 1 hour, difficulty: easy, trail condition: well maintained trail, hike type: loop, This is a nice natural diversion located in the midst of Eastern Jefferson County. When you need a quick nature fix, and don't have much time, this loop trail packs alot of diversity in a mile and a half. Turning rt and the first trail intersection, you'll quickly be walking through a tunnel of small trees and bushes. Soon afterward, the trees grow larger, and the undergrowth opens up as you walk along side the trails. Very Peaceful and they have guided hikes. I highly recommend to any nature lover.
