amazing

by K D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,345

What a great place that many people may overlook! It is located in Lone Elk Park in Fenton and it has quite a bit of cool stuff to learn and look at. The birds are amazing. They have many free shows throughout the summer that I enjoy going to with my family. Ifyou go to their website they have a list of things they need if you are looking for a great organization to donate to!

I used to take my clas here on field trips! the staff is very friendly and informative and we loved seeing all the birds! The bald eagles and the message carrying pigeons were our favorites! They were remodeling last time I was there and I am sure it is even better now!

Nice place to see birds of prey

by B K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,318

This is a really nice organization that emphasizes education as well as entertainment. They have a lot of birds of prey, and that seems to be the focus, but they also have other birds in their care.

They used to do shows during the summer at Grant's Farm, but I'm not sure if they still do. They also have activities and educational programs at their site. I definitely recommend calling them or visiting their website to see what they offer.

Nature at it's best

by Beth B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 766

The World Bird Sanctuary is a very interesting place to visit. It's a wonderful School Activity because admission is free and the kids will be learning while having fun. There are many different types of birds for the kids to view and learn about. It has a very natural feel and the hiking trails are absolutely gorgeous.

PROS: Very natural
CONS: hard to find
