On May 17, 2007 I purchased a home in the Jonesboro Meadows Subdivision in Fairburn GA. The builder was Legacy Communities. Within one year the shingles started falling off the roof. The roof started leaking water causing damage to the interior and structure of the walls. The continuing leaking water also caused damage to the carpet and down stair ceiling above the family room.
The large window in the foyer is leaking rain water. Water is running down the wall. I have had the window plugged twice. The air conditional units stop working six months after I moved in the house. It was summer time and the house was very hot. It took another three months for Legacy Community to bring another unit. However the air condition is still not working. My house is still hot in the summer time.

Im asking someone to look at Legacy Communities LLC. The builder is clearly negligent for building houses with poor workmanship, not honoring warranty agreements, and not conducting inspections. Im trying to understand how this house passed inspection. There where obvious signs of poor workmanship. Legacy Communities have a history of building houses with problems.

I purchased my Legacy Model home Jan. 26, 2010, so far I had to have an electrican, and a plumber out. I need to have the plumber back out but can not reach anyone within Legacy. Every number I had is no good all have been disconnected. I would like to know if anyone has a number or email address that works. I am trying to reach someone at legacy's.

To all the would liketo buy from Legacy Communities.
Do not Do it. The company did go out of business and now has changed names. One name is Peachtree Communities. The company will tell you that Peachtree Communities doesn't have anything to do with Legacy Communities. Im a Army Veteran and will see that no one who is in the Military will never buy a home from this Company. Do not Buy.

We moved into our new home in August 2009. We have experienced so many problems already. At first our roof was leaking and it caused the ceiling in the foyer to crack. Second, the a/c circulation is very poor. The electrical outlets sometimes work and sometimes they don't. The kitchen sink is already having plumbing problems and the ceilings are cracking!! The paint is chipping on the walls and the floor in the kitchen is starting to discolor. The garage gets stuck a lot and the weather stripping is coming off the doors. There was also poor caulking. This company needs to never be able to build another home. There are so many people out there with the same problems in their brand new homes!! We haven't even been here a year and already having this many problems. I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit against these people. I tried to respond to other people to get something going. If there is anyone out there who is interested in getting together to get something done, please email me. kharris2031@yahoo.com

DON"T BUY A LEGACY HOME or any other homes that Legacy uses now! Latest news we heard is that they went bankrupt and now are using a different name. There are several other names, one of the other names that we know of is PEACHTREE HOMES!!!
Words can't express how dissatisfied we are with our home. We have roof leaking from our over our downstairs bay window, and the window that is in the front of the house above our front door, and our foundation is cracking. We have tried to contact the warranty company several times, by phone call and email, niether one have returned our phone calls. Our stairwell banister is now seperating from our wall, AC circulation is horrible, and the electrical work is shoddy, we are constantly blowing fuses and electrical issues didn't pass code, and if they did pass code it was a shaddy code. We were suppose to enjoy our new first home and now we can't. We are hiring an attorney because of all of the problems above, and because of the drainage issue on the side of house and backyard!! DON"T BUY from them or any other names they use. Our list could go on and on! And they don't even deserve a star, but because we have to rate them they'll get a one star!

I have lived in my brand new home for 6 years now. This was my first home that I have purchased by myself. The only complaint that I have is that I have a 4th bedroom over an uninsulated garage that stays 10-15 degress hotter and cooler all year round. I had an air conditioning company come out that told me that per the square footage of my home, the air/het is adequate. BUT since ALL of my ceilings are 10-16 feet tall in EVERY room, the air/heat is 1 1/2 TONS UNDER. During the summer, the master and bonus rooms stay hot. During the winter, they are cold.

I have been in my Legacy house since 2006; I've had my AC unit checked, inspecte3d and chemicals added twice every summer. the unit wasn't big enough to cool the entire house and the and insulation is horrible and the unit runs all the time which equates to a huge electricity bill. cheaps light fixutes, cheap door knobs, cheap cabinets, cheaps doors, cheap everything I guess tha'ts why the house is so cheap. But other than that, my cabinets are falling off the wall. . I've had to change everything from the master bath tub, shower and vanity. installed hardwood floors, changed doors and knobs, lighting. all bathrooms were updated and changed and i added tile just to make the house look like something. even teh grass is cheap it's almost died the first year Oh yeah you don't get gutters in the back of your house nor on the side which contributes to erosion near the base of your house. LEGACY shame ono you just GOd awful. I"ll never ever ever buy another house from you or HOMELIFE or the name they changed to.. oh yeah even the brick work on the front of the house was poorly done, just pityful

They are absolutely horrible. As a previous poster said, I would not allow them to build an out house for me. Big isn't always better.
I had a house before the one I bought from them. It was built in 1952. I have had more issues with this new house in 1 year than in that old house.
I am interested in joining any class action suit against this company. The mental stress and physical discomfort that they have caused warrants action. If there was an option for 0 stars I would pick that. Pity!

In my HOA if you ask them to publish the books they return with something you can not understand and lots of foul language. I witnessed a board member telling a homeowner to shut up. Homeowners are being called back stabbers and liars and all this was during an annual meeting. Members of the Board walked the room telling homeowners not to vote for others. Our HOA President talks poorly of other members of the board to homeowners. Wishing foreclosure on nice hard working people then turn to those same people for help when needed. No need to request for access to a list of eligible voters in order to effectively campaign for spots on the Board because this list does not exist. All this is on top of homes that were built poorly. This will be my last time buying within an HOA. If you are planning on purchasing a home in Flowery Branch Crossing take the time to really inspect the Home and the HOA. If you see occupied homes with weeds or weed lawn take note of the address and come back in 10 days. If the weeds are still there after 10 days ask the HOA for a listing of all fines and notices with addresses they sent out in the past 60 days. If by chance they do give you a listing of all fines and notices sent out in the past 60 days. Drive the community and do your own assessment and then youll see the illegal selective governance. Nothing is worse than having a poorly built home and a horrific HOA telling homeowners to shut up. A total let down. Even Madoff gave his clients quarterly statements. A few weeks after I posted the above I received a $525 fine for not filing a property modification form for a $5,500 walkway. My bad. Meanwhile 3 homes within a radius of 5 homes received no fines for not having any lawn at all. When I mentioned this to our President he increased my fine to $625. After I paid the fine and closed my door. The President our HOA pressed his face onto my glass door and yelled A$$-Hole. Causing fear within my 2 boys and proving he has severe psychological problems. I called the police and filed a report. Of course our President denied his actions. Three days later our President called me at 8:10 a.m asking if I could stand outside on my new walkway and watch him deliver a fine because he felt his life was in danger. I just paid him $625! I have to see this and then again see nothing. In a case statement; When you feel like your life is in danger: (a.) Call someone that likes you. (b.) Don't go to Terror's door like a white lady in a horror movie. (c.) Mail the fine. (d.) Don't call Terror's buddy at 8 in the morning demanding "Help!" (e.) All of the above.
Below are a few things my HOA failed to tell me before my purchase:
1. "We Can't Wait to Get Our Hands on Your Money -- Or Even Your Home."
2. "We're More Secretive Than the CIA."
3. "You Won't Be Able to Sell When You Want."
4. "We're Poorer Than We Look."
5. "We Can Make Up the Rules as We Go Along."
6. "We Don't Want You at Our Meetings."
7. "We're in Over Our Heads."
8. "We Work for Nothing but Get Compensated in Other Ways."
9. "On the job training."

POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP-EVEN WORSE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT....and they lie...they promises they were building a clubhouse, pool and play area for the development and they never did! They also told us we could buy a membership to Woodmont for $400 per summer for the pool and Woodmont said that was a lie!!!We are very disappointed in the quality of the homes. They do have some nice upgrades put the workmanship is horrible. The warranty department sent people out once to do work and they never came back to finish. Warranty department will not even answer my emails now. I have other issues that they haven't even addressed yet.I would NEVER buy from this builder again and will blog every site i possibly can to let people know to stay away from LEGACY BUILDERS.

Legacy's "satisfaction guarantee" is a complete line of BULL. 5000 character maximum isn't enough for me to even begin to explain the problems I've had with my home and their service. They have totally ruined my first home buying experience. The most recent problem is water damage by the back door. I have mold growing in the walls and they are ducking me so badly it's disgusting. They will only confirm appointments by email now and I'm getting absolutely NOWHERE. They've lost their BBB accrediation...they just don't care.

I agree with several home owners that they build big homes very cheap but poor workmanship. I wanted the same house as the model home but what I got was totally different, first the bricks on the front wrong color, next the the a/c units were never hooked up, then the windows were incorrect, I should have gotten a 2 step sunken family room it was a 1 step and we were promised a pool and club house and they never built it. There are several other issues in which I can go on and on about and that's just my problems there are many other home owners in my subdivision with their very own issues that are far worst, and I repeatedly went back and forth with Legacy and the warranty dept. and the response was that the builder has the right to change the home, but after they have taken my money. In my opinion they could'nt build me a dog house !!!!

What you see in those model homes is certainly not what you get. Legacy do not stick to their promises, very poor workmanship due to the cheap labor.Legacy seems to do a good job teaching their employees how to be good professional liars, everything you are told changes as soon as you sign that contract.Very poor customer service from builders and personnel in charge of warranty. Legacy only offer a huge space, lacks detail big time. NEVER AGAIN!

We just moved our new home in Cobblestone Creek community last month and want to say thanks. We looked around for a year and thought we would not be able to afford a home like we have. We are very pleased with the warranty service too they have gone above and beyond for the couple of items we called in.

We know no one else makes a nice home (and big) for the same price.

Thanks Legacy
Martin D.

We closed on our home on November 28, 2006 and are very happy with it. There have been some problems but having purchased a brand new home before, these things are to be expected. The warranty office has been great to work with. Our community seems to be organized and we preparing to take over the homeowners association in the next 3-6 months.

Quick Builders, therefore, cheap, quick homes. Poor craftsmanship. I have had countless issues (broken pipes, unpainted hidden areas, broken A/C unit, unkempt public areas). I have been here less than a year, and I am already ready to move.

PROS: large spacious homes
CONS: poorly built, rude sales people, quick shabby work.

I have never in my life experienced such a total let down. I was all excited about getting my new home and this company was not professional at all, all the way up to the owner of the company. The only people I can say that had a heart were the sales ladies. I will never in my life get a house from these people, even if they gave it to me!
