The online service is horrible. I placed an order, leaving plenty of time for delivery before Christmas so I could make a gift to send my mom. Fabric Depot never processed the order. So no present for my mom. I also first tried to place the order by phone so I could get some information about shipping (none is provided on the Web site) and talked to about the rudest woman I've ever encountered. She seemed put off by having to deal with a customer and told me to just place the order online because "she had other duties to attend to." Not just bad service, but I couldn't even complete an order.

This fabric store has so much variety of everything you could want. The only drawback is on their big sale days you wait in long lines to get fabric cut. If you know this ahead of time you can plan accordingly. It is so worth the drive out here !

It is pretty far out but they have everything. Fabric Depot actually sells wholesale to everyone, providing you buy enough of one product. Building is old but that is the only draw back.

Fabric Depot is well worth the drive out to 122nd and Stark. They have an overwhelming assortment of fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies. The best time to visit this store is when they are having a 40/50% off sale and you can score tons of amazing fabric at a great savings! They carry Michael Miller fabric and many other unique fabrics that you can use to make clothing, gifts, and home furnishings. The best thing about this store is that they are always getting new material, patterns, and supplies and you won't get bored of their selection.

Fabric Depot is a huge warehouse of a fabric store. They have everything from inexpensive every day fabrics to higher end bridal and ball gown materials. They have a great bridal department as well as home decorating fabrics. They also have a great remnants section and have sales frequently.

The staff has always been very helpful, but unobtrusive.

I love the fabric and notion selection here. My one complaint is that they run 40% off sales every month, but not all days, and in between that they run 30% off, but again, not all days.

So I am constantly getting flyers with the sales, but it seems to me it would be easier to just mark the fabric down by that much permanently and save the postage on the flyers!

The days that there isn't a sale, the prices are pricey, and I therefore would shop somewhere else. Otherwise, I wait until I have another flyer in hand before going (so they are missing at least half of my business). And I know I'm not the only one that does this (most of my family sews extensively and does this as well).

I was also disappointed they discontinued the business discounts. I occassionally sew for our church theater productions and those discounts made a huge difference to us. So much so, that we don't shop there now since they discontinued offerng a discount to businesses. Other fabric stores, both locally and nationally owned, still offer that discount and so we shop there.

On those sale days, I will often have second thoughts because it will be SOOOOOO crowded as to make the whole creative and shopping experience miserable. And so I'll skip it or just go to a closer store with less crowds.

So if they would not have these on again off again sales, and just generally marked down all their fabrics permanently a bit, I think they would have more consistent customer loyalty.

Fabric Depot is one of my favorite stores, I can find everything I need for my sewing and craft needs in one stop.
They carry a huge selection of fabric as well as foam, pillow forms, upholstery equipment, drapery hardware, yarn, ribbons, patterns and so much. They also offer great sales with a savings of anywhere from 25%, 30% and 40%. The customer service is very helpful and can assit you with any of your project needs.

Go on a weekday - they'll still be busy, but on the weekends it's unbelievable. They have great prices, and have 30% and 40% off sales all the time. They have every kind of fabric imaginable, including a wall of fake fur. And if they don't have it, they will special order it for you - I ordered several spools of ribbon for wedding decorations. They also have an extensive selection of notions.
