the only problem i encounter with his back office staff is that they do not pick up calls. because of this, i had to call after hours for some pain med and antibiotic. the answering service connected me to the doctor. he was at the gym. well, let me tell you, he went off on me like i had just run him over with a car. i've never had a dr go off on me like that or threaten to fire me as a patient. i found myself apologizing to him, but later i realized this was not my fault. had his staff returned calls, this would not have happened. also, he was bullying and verbally abusive, and no dr should ever treat a patient like this. he was so busy yelling at me, he didn't he stop when i said that i'd just found out my sister is dying. i had a phone message today to call sharon. i will talk to her tomorrow. if she starts in on me, i will find another dr, and my husband will leave his office too. he was shocked that the dr spoke to me in such a fashion. was totally unprofessional. he said he had worked an 8-hour day. don't drs in vegas do hospital rounds in the morning and evening? my dr in los angeles, would have given a left lung to have an 8-hr day. he did morning and evening rounds at the hospitals. there had better be an apology for his behavior tomorrow, or i will report him for verbal abuse. we have always liked him. he has spent time with us. however, one complaint i would have is that we are diabetics and we once said we wanted a nutritionist, and he was sort of upset cause he had given us a sheet of paper telling us what to eat. i realized he really doesn't know what a nutritionist does. one piece of paper does not a nutritionist make. except for not returning calls in a timely fashion, i have no problem with the staff. although he has many good qualities, screaming at a pt is horrible, and because i know he is capable of this, i would not refer anyone to him. no one should have to endure this. i am still upset and angry about this, especially since i have to worry about a dying sister - my only sib left.

Dr. Robert Roth came highly recommended by all my co-workers.
I made an appt to see Dr Roth on Box Canyon Dr. It took them over 30 mins to take me back the MA asked a few questions. around 10 minutes later the Dr comes in. I explained to him the reason i was there. He stated i needed Blood work and an MRI. Fine and dandy,
few weeks later i get a bill from them mind you I have double insurance. I spoke to Mona or Monica at the billing dept explained to her what my insurance stated, she started screaming at me!!! I could not believe it! She was rude and VERY unprofessional, Dr Roth change your staffing cause your going to lose so many patients that way. I will NEVER go back to his office at all not even for my test result screw that. people do your home work and make sure the staffing is kind and pleasant not ass holes...

I have been going to Dr. Roth for at least 4 years. I find
Dr. Roth, his nurse and office staff working diligently to provide exceptional care for their patients. Over the years I have had blood work and tests done with very timely responses. I have called his nurse on numerous occasions and have always received a quick and helpful response to my concerns. She has gone out of her way to assist with my many needs both for myself and my mother.
I now take care of my mother, who has Parkinson's Disease and requires very careful monitoring. Dr. Roth, his nurse, and staff have been the best of the best for her! Watching the mother you love slowly deteriorate is a very hard thing. My mom has been treated with the utmost of respect and dignity by every person in the Box Canyon Office.
In this day and age it is sometimes difficult to maintain a perfect record with the public you serve. I would have to say that the Box Canyon Staff goes above and beyond to provide the care that their patients need. I would recommend Dr. Roth and staff to anyone looking for an honest doctor and a hard working staff.

I would not agree with many of the previous postings. It seems that the majority of the complaints were directed toward the office staff with no reflection on the physician himself. Dr. Roth is an excellent doctor with years of experience and a strong compassion for medicine. I was a student of his, and spent 3 months in his office while I was in PA school. He is quite busy because he is very good, well liked by his patients, and in very high demand. He always practiced current and innovative medicine, and I can easily say that I learned the majority of my knowledge in PA school from him. He can diagnose and treat the most difficult and complex cases. I would recommend him to everyone I know including my own mother. Dr. Roth is among the best internal medicine physicians in Las Vegas.

I agree with the other posters. The office staff is impossible. Their policy is to not return phone calls for 24 hours and to not call pharmacies. They also ignore patients who are standing at the window. The office itself is chaotic and overcrouded. I felt like I was a welfare patient.
I needed a form mailed to me and they would not mail it. They actually required that the form be picked up in person because they did not want to pay the postage. I would not recommend this physician to anyone.

The office staff is disgusting, incompetent and downright difficult to deal with. Dr. Roth is an OK physician but when you have to wade through the incompetent staff its time to find another physician.

So I had a change of insurance and needed to switch doctors. I figured I would go to the same one my parents and in-laws used: Dr. Robert Roth at Box Canyon. Before I made the appointment, I read the online reviews- they didn't seem too good, but hey, my family uses him and they have had no complaints thus far. I had to wait a month to get an appointment as they say the Dr. needs to have time to speak with you, go over your history, and make a thorough diagnosis/ plan to treat you. Ok, that's fine- understandable but when the time came for my appointment, he tried shuffling me out of his office as fast as he could- at one point he even stepped out mid-appointment and met with a pharmaceutical sales rep for 10 minutes, right outside my door. I could hear the whole conversation- not a single word about business or the drugs he was pushing. They were just having a nice conversation about life and eating some goodies that the sales rep brought along to entice the Dr. OK, that is strike #1. Strike # 2, when he returned and we continued our meeting, I came to understand he never read my file and even asked the nurse for hospital record info I supplied earlier and she replied, "it is in the file". The third strike came when I had to have blood work done, including a DNA screen for a possible gene mutation that could affect the well-being and lifespan of my future children. I even told the Dr. that I could currently be pregnant and asked how long the test would take to come back with a result- everyone told me 2 weeks. After 3 weeks of not hearing, I called the office- it took 2 days for them to return my phone call- leaving a message that "all came back normal". Well, it's a good thing I called back to confirm- as they dug a little deeper, they found that the DNA test had not come back yet. They said it "was in the mail" So, I waiting another week, called back to find out it was "still in the mail" I finally asked them to call the testing facility to get and answer,. They had it faxed over that day, but when I called the next day to get the results they said, "Well, it is not uncommon to wait a few days for the Dr to read the results and he had not yet done so- we will call you back when he does." I began to get irate and demanded that i get an answer back that day or the next morning. They finally called and left me a message the next morning that the test came back negative. Not only do they have a general lack of interest in the well-being of their patient, but they are incredibly arrogant with the patients- I would tolerate this behavior if he were the only doctor in town OR if Dr. Roth were an amazing doctor, but he is far from it. While I don't usually complain and have never written a review, I would hate for someone looking to become his patient not hear how he/ she could possibly be treated. Look around there are great doctors in Las Vegas, Dr. Roth is not one of them.

Excellent doctor, however try to get an appointment when you need one or try to get test results. When you need a doctor's help he is NOT the one to help, it may take 3 to 4 weeks to get an appointment even if it's a follow up on an existing problem. I suspect a lot of this is because of his office staff who seem to be more concerned about moving patients thru the doors than caring about your problem.

I read the other review and just felt awful for the lady and wanted to give my opinion about them also. I used to go to Robert Roths office and left because of his office staff. I tryed speaking to the office manager Sharon on several occasions and she did nothing to help me. She was rude after several times trying to talk to her. Her office staff has no personality and they do not care about there patients which to me reflects back onto Robert Roth. Avoid this place like the plague. They have now moved to Box Canyon Primary Care. AVOID THIS PLACE.

PROS: none
CONS: They do not care about there patients

My mom thought he was a wonderful doctor and saw him for many years. BUT, she had been out of state and very ill. I called the office several times for help/advice. I found his nurse to be rude and he would not be bothered to speak to me. When my mother returned to Las Vegas, he saw her twice and did NOTHING for her-complaining about his office staff. Long story short, she died last week. When I called the office to cancel the next appointment, they didn't even say they were sorry. I would never send anyone to him.

Dr. Robert Roth had been my for only a few months and because of a change in my insurance company, I could no longer have him as my doctor. He was the best doctor I had ever had in my entire life. Very caring and concerned with every patient he has. He always takes care of his patients like they are his own relatives. I would definitely recommend him as the best doctor in the area.
