I haven't bowled here, but the bar is lots of fun. The people running the karaoke get eveyone involved and make sure that no one leaves before having a great time.

PROS: Good songs and very entertaining
CONS: Not the newest bowling alley...

This is your typical family bowing alley. My wife and I have used them many times over the years for birthday parties. I must say that the kids always have a blast. They have a party room... and can even provide pizza. I like to bring my own food... but they can provide you with cake too I believe.

PROS: local

There is not much of a choice convenience wise for me, unless I choose to go a bit closer to San Francisco to find a bowling facility. They are pricer than some others and the people there are sometimes not very nice. I've seen one time when I visited that there's some seasonal pass available, but I haven't tried it. I prefer Serra Bowl in Daly City that this one.

Belmateo Bowl is not a well kept bowling alley and they charge prices that are rediculously high. In fact, we drive all the way to Palo Alto (15-20 minutes) to Palo Alto Bowl instead because the lanes are well oiled and the prices are far cheaper.

My first impression was that it was old, but not as dark and seedy as I was expecting. We took our playgroup on a hot summer day and the kids had a blast! They have a ramp for the kids to put the ball on if they can't roll it themselves and they have bumper bowling. I had a problem getting a pair of shoes - first I got 2 left feet, then I got 2 right feet, finally I got a pair. You would think they would be a bit more conscientious. And I had a problem when we settled up - $20/hour and $3.50 for shoe rental. Maybe that's reasonable, but I had three kids with me, so before we stepped on to the alley floor, I was out $10.50! It is definitely a "once in a while" thing for me.
