Technicians have always been fine but man, the phone people and receptionists!!! Trying to schedule my most recent mammogram, I call to make appt & confirm they have order from my doc. No, but the person on the phone says she'll call my doc and call me back. Oh, first she says she does have the order but she's talking about one from 8 months ago even tho I said the doc faxed it last week!! Anyhow, never calls my doc, I never hear back from her. Go thru the same thing with another woman. Only difference is this new person's English comprehension is very bad. Like first person, she also is challenged reading date on doc's orders, refers to one 8 months ago like it's current even tho again I said I'm calling about an order from last week. So I call my doc, they re-fax order, I call Breast Ctr to confirm, and the person on the phone (M) says they'll just be doing my left side. She says that's their protocol if it's under 1 year since last mammogram. So I call my doc, they say it should be both sides, that the order clearly says that. I call back SBC, get M again, now she's saying "The order is for both sides. Your appt. is for both sides." I remind her of the conversation we had the day before, how she'd insisted the protocol was for just one side, she can't apologize for not calling me back when she realized it was for both sides. She can't admit her mistake or apologize for making me call back my doc and SBC again. She just keeps saying "Your appt. is for both sides." Apparently, it's against their protocol to ever tell a patient they made a mistake or to ever apologize for causing a patient to have to make unnecessary phone calls. And oh yeah, M says, "We'll see you tomorrow for your appointment at...." and gives me the wrong time. The people on the phone are haughty and careless and the 2nd one's ability to understand stand my slow clear English was really bad. . I'm going to see if there's another place for me to go to for breast exams And oh yeah, when you're on hold, you have to listen to advertisements about how wonderful NW Hosp. is. It's really a bad experience on the phone with these people. There is not only no consideration for the patient, they don't even care about basic accuracy about reading orders, appt time, English comprehension etc. Got to be a better place.

Some women like myself need to get a Mammogram every year. I feel very fortunate to have access to a place that has state of the art equipment that was just aquired a year ago. I'm grateful there was an upgrade as the wait time was cut considerably and it's not as uncomfortable. I was in and out of this place in less than 20 minutes. The staff has always been friendly. A few years ago I had to have a ultrasound-guided biopsy. Luckly the results came back benign. It has a very pleasant waiting area.
