My husband and I started going back to this neighborhood spot late last year after we heard that new owners had arrived - and oh, what a great difference! The food there is now divine, and now I have to make sure I get plenty for the house on the weekends. Their dough is just wonderful and you can really tell it's homeade and fresh. I love all their kolaches, but I think my favorite is their one with the fresh jalepenos and chicken breast, and cheese. It has huge chunks of marinated chicken and is huge! The new owers and staff are so friendly and nice, and will do anything to please customers. I am so happy to have a place nearby again that is reliable and such a treasure!!!!

Lone Star Kolaches has a convenient location just off Grand Pakrway/Highway 99 and Highland Knolls. We love kolaches and are huge fans of The Kolache Factory, but we decided to stop here to get some one day when we were on our way out for a day trip. The location is very clean inside. They have a sign with menu items written in chalk above the counter (I assume some items must change from day to day). Compared with the Kolache Factory, the selection seemed limited to me. There was only one option that included eggs. They did have a number of fruit flavors (apricot, peach, apple, cherry, and strawberry), but I was disappointed to find that most of the fruit kolaches also included cream cheese.

The location is very small and there was no place to sit and eat, so we ate them in the car. We tried the peach and strawberry fruit kolaches and a ham and cheese kolache. To me, the fruit kolaches seemed like a big dinner roll with jelly/preserves on top. In the ham and cheese kolache, the meat was diced and there wasn't very much of it. I felt like I had more dough than anything else. The dough on all of the kolaches seemed to be very sweet (so it was "overkill" on the fruit kolaches) and none of the kolaches were served warm.

We were very disappointed, and in my opinion, they don't even compare to Kolache Factory in terms of quality or selection. At The Kolache Factory, they serve their kolaches "hot" and if they are not warm when you order them, they will warm them for you. The prices here are also more expensive than The Kolache Factory. The kolaches were "OK" but we will probably not be going back any time soon.

They have the best kolaches, hands down. I don't get anything else from here. Every time I go here, I load up full of kolaches. You have to taste it to believe it, I've never had a better kolache anywhere else. They also have a variety of different flavors and combinations, it's well worth a visit.

We consider this place to have the very best kolaches. They are so fresh and fantastic. You can get just about any flavor you want. You can eat them there or take them home. My husband picks them up on the way to work to take to the office. Great prices, clean shop. they have donuts too but the specialty would be kolaches.
