Took two out of town guests there, they enjoyed everything. Fried pickles were great. I had memphis ribs, collards and cheese grits, all excellent. Service was very good as well and price for a place like this was very good.

Smokejack is a rare find! Great atmosphere, Great food, and Great staff!

Yum! Fish tacos, pulled pork, grits with gouda -- tough decisions! Add in a great smile from Wayne and Kristen and it's hard for me to drive by without stopping in!

Best barbecue restaurant in the Alpharetta area.

My wife and I are regular visitors to Smokejack. We have worked our way through the menu over the last year or two and haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. The Mojo Combo is big enough to share and gives you three different barbecue flavors. The fish tacos and chicken thighs are awesome. Wayne and Kristen in the bar are two of the nicest and most competent staff you'll encounter anywhere.

Hope this place makes it...its really good BBQ but it always seems empty inside. It has a great bar area...and the fried pickles are to die for. I Always have a great meal when I eat here. They have 2nd restaurant, I think its in Midway...wonder if its as good?

Good food, BEST FRIED PICKLES EVER!
If you go you have to have the fried pickles, and try the BBQ pork quesadilla. But if you want just a BBQ sandwhich theirs is pretty good. It is BBQ with kinda a gourmet twist. Sometimes have live music additional parking in the rear, and they have a cool roof top area for parties.

I love their ribs and pulled pork, and the mustard sauce that comes with the pulled pork. Their sides are great too, especially their cheese grits and macaroni and cheese. My husband always insists on ordering the fried pickles appetizer and which are impossible to resist eating, no matter how hard I try.

Food just ok - party of 6 tryed several items, service somewhat slow.
Help did not have professional feel, even for BBQ.
Would probably not make the drive again

I stop by this bbq gem from time to time. Cool upstairs area with live blues music on the weekends. The food is excellent and average prices make it worth trying. Decent service for the most part. Stop by and try their Sunday brunch after church. Note: Yuo will definitely smell like bbq smoke when you leave this one but it will be worth it.

Editorial from

Executive chef John Umberger has barbecue figured out. Start with big, thinly sliced pickles fried hot and crisp, served with a mildly spicy mayonnaise "pink sauce" for dipping. We recommend the pulled pork with a proper North Carolina…
