Heard this spot was written up as a "find" in a food/travel magazine. Visited with husband and teenage son. I ordered butternut squash soup with crab served in a large footed bowl on plate. Also, had a wonderful fresh greek salad. My son

This place did have unique and well prepared food, however, it has been sold to new ownership. It is now called Calista's which has unique offerings as well. I actually prefer their menu. The atmosphere is cozy, live music some evenings by an unobtrusive guitar player only adds to the experience. Food is fresh. Offerings change after a few months, but favorite dishes can be requested and if they have the ingredients, it will be prepared for you. The chef came out to the table at the end of our meal (which was to celebrate my birthday) and visited awhile before presenting us with a dessert of our choice - I had creme brule, and was not disappointed. The salmon is fabulous. Prices may seem a bit high, but the quality of the food prepared as well as the service has made this place a favorite of mine because I leave there more satisfied and relaxed than most dining establishments.

World class by current RGV standards. The food is excellent, as is the ambiance, a definite winner for dates, anniversaries and special events. They take reservations, which is a big plus. I wouldn't recommend for family dining, as the food may be too sophisticated for some young palates.

PROS: Wonderful food
CONS: None
