I wish there were an option to give NO stars. We have had ongoing issues with the staff walking in to our apartment unannounced for months now. It has happened 3 times, and we have only been here for just under 4 months. In Alabama, the law requires 48hrs of notice to be given before entry (other than an emergency,) and they do NOT follow this law. The first time I was home with my daughter, my husband was at work. The maintenance man knocked and then immediately opened the door - I did not even have time to get to my door to open it. No notice of him coming - he said he needed to change an air filter. Fine - but where was the notice? The second time my daughter and I were napping & I woke up to the landlord & an electrician standing in my bedroom doorway. Again, no notice. The third time was the day directly after the 2nd incident. My daughter & I were undressed & about to shower when we heard a knock at the door. I didn't answer because, like mentioned before, I was about to shower. I came out of the shower about 20 minutes later to find new outlets in my kitchen, boot tracks through our home, and our front door hanging open. When I called to ask the landlord if she or the electrician had been in the home again, she said "yes" and justified it by saying they tried to reach my husband at work (she knows he is in the Air Force, and can not answer during work hours!) and when she didn't hear back she just let the electrician in since he does not live on site and they didn't want to have to pay for him to come back out again. Ridiculous. Just to clarify, she attempted to call my husband & then walked in 2 hours later. Not even close to 48 hours notice. I am currently in the middle of consulting with my lawyer & will be hoping to get out of our lease ASAP. Also, this is a HUD property, which we were not informed of when we moved in. We were also told we would be able to have a pet - and then when we called to verify and ask if there would be an additional cost we were told we were not able to have one at all. They claim that this is a safe neighborhood because it is gated - the gates never close - and the "security cameras" that were supposedly being installed at the time of our move in are STILL not here... I don't think they ever will be. VERY unprofessional management. We have also had an attempted break in while here - in the middle of the day, while we were at home. Please make sure you get everything in writing - not just verbal! - from the landlord if you decide to move here. Very shady, unprofessional, unsafe and I would not recommend to anyone!

I am in the Air Force and when I realized that these apartments were owned and built by a Retired U.S. Military Veteran of 24 years that did 2 tours in Vietnam, I was sold!! Being in the U.S. Military means you spend a lot of time in temporary housing with your family. These apartments give you a home like feeling with plenty of space. My wife and kids lived very comfortably here at River Parkway Apartments. I knew a committed U.S. Military Officer would provide my family and anyone else with housing that you can trust in.

To make a long story short, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! The units are way over priced and several amenities that influenced me to move here have yet been provided, such as a laundry facility and a gated community. The complex is less than 2yrs old and it's crappy new construction. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbor's conversations as if you were right there talking with them. It seems as if the apartments were just built for show and not for actual living spaces.
