UMC is a warm and welcoming parent co-operative preschool where kids are encouraged to get down and out-right messy. The focus is on learning to socialize and follow very simple rules rather than on academics. Kids get to be kids here.

This is a parent co-op but duties are not over-whelming. For instance, in the 2 year class, parents work one of the two days their child is enrolled. In the 3 year class, parents work one of the three days their child attends, and so on. It is a great way to get to know other parents in the area and the parents who co-op here are a friendly, down to earth group of people. There is an on-site nursery for siblings if needed on a parent's "work" day.

This is a great school for boys who are encouraged to get their energy out on the two large play yards and in the "active rooms" for the older classrooms. The play yards house large play structures for climbing and sliding. There is also an over-sized sandbox with a large wooden "house" and large water basins. Boy do the kids get cool (and messy) on hot days.

The teachers are very warm and understanding. Children are encouraged to participate in all the facets of class but never forced or even pressured. A great introduced to preschool.
