This is concerning the Walmart in Ruston, La. Today at work we throwing a surprise baby shower for one of the employees. The previous evening one of the ladies on the crew came to the office to use the phone and order a cake from walmart. I listened to the ntire order procedure. The lady asked for a half sheet cake, half chocolate and half white, the actual cake was all white. She had also asked that the colors of the frosting be girl type colors, the actual cake had yellow, green and blue colors. She also requested that a baby be on the cake laying on a blanket, the actual cake had a baby laying on a flower. She was asked by the walmart employee if she wanted the baby to be caucasian or african american, the lady said caucasian. The actual baby on the cake was african american. The lady from my work did not know any of this until she received the cake from a relative who broguth it to work. Of course by then it was too late to do anything. The lady from my work called walmart to complain, the walmart employee who took the call said she was sorry and to bring it back, the lady from my work told her that she was at work, the shower was going on now and there was no way she could just leave to have the cake fixed, because the shower would be over upon her returning to work. the lady from my work also told the walmart employee how embarrasing this was and that the person the cake was for was very offended. The walmart employee stated "Well what do you want me to do about it?"The lady from my work asked to speak to a manager, and was told none were available. When she asked for the phone number of the manager, the employee from walmart told her she could not give it to her. The lady from my work is going to walmart on her next day off and getting the number of the disrict manager.

We moved to this area roughly 4 years ago, and the WALMART IN RUSTON, LA is by far the worst business I have ever had to deal with, if you can avoid doing business there, by all means do it.

One day I was shopping at Wal Mart in Ruston, Louisiana and not a group of people unsealing the lids on hot sauce in the Mexican food aisle. I checked the jars and all the lids were loose. I reported this to the manager and showed him the jars and he said he would have someone remove them from the shelf. Next week I checked the jars of hot sauce and something green was growing inside them. I again called the manager and he explained the previous manager was from Monroe and did not care. Next week the jars were still on the shelf.

Good Morning.

My wife and I purchased a new Ford F150 on Saturday, Feb. 07, 2009 from Jim Taylor Ford in Ruston Louisiana. About three miles west out of Ruston we noticed the front end of the vehicle was shaking excessively. We returned to the dealership and since their service shop had closed 2 and one half hours earlier (12 Noon) they suggested we take the vehicle to the Walmart Supercenter just about three or four blocks east of the dealership. Upon arriving at the tire center, we were behind one other vehicle at the greeting area near the entrance to the garage area. In turn we were approached by Marvin D. and were asked our needs. We told him we wanted to have all four wheels balanced. He punched in some codes into his handheld device, we signed, and he said it would take about an hour.

We browsed in Walmart for about 30 minutes and returned to the waiting area in the tire center. There were three other customers that were being waited on and from their actions and overheard conversations they were not happy. There seemed to be no resolution as the griping continued. One of those customers asked for a manager but none came. People were cursing in the waiting area (Is Walmart truly a family store, if so, whose family?). About one hour and 10 minutes after we had arrived my son-in-law, through the glass in the waiting area, saw our vehicle being driven into one of the bays. The driver stopped got out and casually walked away. I joined my son-in-law at the window and waited for another 20 minutes. Nothing happened and I returned to the sitting area. About 2 minutes later I saw my son-in-law go out to talk to the technician. I approached them both as the technician said that they could not balance 20 inch wheels and that their machine was calibrated to balance wheels up to a maximum of 17 inches. I asked why we were kept waiting for an hour and a half only to be told that the job could no be done. The technician said that the greeter should have told us as we were being checked in (that the job could not have been done-a fact Marvin D. admitted.) We asked if there were other businesses that could balance the wheels. The technician asked what time it was, and we said 5:05 PM. We were told that all stores near were closed. I went back inside and asked Marvin D. why we were not told that the job could not be done. He nonchalantly said, ??I apologize,? left it at that and went about his business. I asked for a manager, he immediately called and we waited another twenty minutes. No manager arrived. My wife went to the front desk and requested a manager.

Anna (Asst. Mgr) finally arrived and I told her that we had waited for over an hour and a half to be told that the job could not be done and that due their negligence our option to seek another nearby provider was squashed. She apologized and said that no one would know until the truck came into the shop area. I told her what the technician had said and that Marvin D. (at that time behind the desk) was the one responsible??Marvin D. admitted he was responsible. Anna was disheveled, sloppy and looked at me as if she was trying to figure out something to say. I told her it was obvious that she could not or would not do anything. She said nothing else and we left the store.

In summary, we were not from Ruston and had about three hours to travel before we reached home. They, the employees of the Ruston Walmart Supercenter, wasted our time through incompetent actions. We could not use another care provider because all were closed. We called and went to Shreveport to the Sears Tire Store at Mall St. Vincent. The Sears Store was open until 7PM. We arrived at 6:45 PM on the dot. We were greeted by a neatly dressed knowledgeable lady in a clean shop that has been there at least 3 times longer than the Walmart store in Ruston. The tires were balanced and torqued by knowledgeable and competent employees. Had Marvin D. or Asst. Mgr. Anna offered any assistance or expressed any concern in finding another facility to balance the wheels I might not have written this letter.

My experiences in the last few years with Walmart from stores in Boutte, Natchitoches, Shreveport, and now Ruston LA. Has not been positive. I have been trading with Walmart since its inception. What do you have to say?
