From the moment we were greeted, my husband and I said nothing but 'Yes"!!! and Shut Up!!! all evening. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with special flowers on the table and a Happy Anniversary greeting from each member of the staff. Very subtle though. I had the Escolar and Lobster which was perfectly prepared...pan seared and cooked just untill the fish transluceny were gone. Perfect and perfect portions, not gauche or heaped. My husband had the New Zealand Lamb with a Balsamic Fig reduction, the flavors melded so well with the Mascarpone Sweet Potatoes and Roasted Beets that he wanted to lick the plate. The lobster bisque was better than one we travel to France for twice a year!!! The wine list had over 200 selections with every price point.
There were a number of young people working in this place but they were so seasoned and trained you were proud for them. Great job by people who obviously care and know what they are doing. WE are telling everyone we know in Dallas and will return very soon!!!

Pros: Great Ambiance, Terrific Food and Consistent Service

Cons: This restaurant is not in my neighborhood. They told us to book early for holiday week-ends.

My husband travels with work and so we dine in fine resturants globally. I would have to say that after dining at August E's I came away with the biggest disappointment that I have ever felt with any dining experience. With my second course I recieved half a Lobster tail, a few tablespoons of potatoes, a leaf of bok-choy, and a piece of fish that was the size of a half dollar. I had to ask for melted butter. Butter was extra. The lobster and fish were just o.k. We had to wait twenty minutes before a waiter came and it was one hour and fifteen minutes before we received the first course. I had to ask twice for a refill on my drink. The manger did nothing but say I am sorry and seemed put out. The owner said," It's hard to get good help in this small town." We spent $175 and felt violated with the way we were treated and left hungry.

For an unremarkable dining experience August E's is the perfect destination. The Cuisine is mediocre and the service no existent. If you complain, the excuses begin,
excuses turn to accusations about you and your unrefined palette. The Lamb is extremely
rare, the Lobster leathery and the Rib Eye resembles Chuck. If you have lots of time on your hands and think fast food chains are fine dinning this is the place for you.
