I asked PWC to come give me an estimate on a leaking shut-off valve. The plumber, Johnny, was very thorough and took his time to check out the entire house and also to explain everything to me. He told me there was an easy fix and a difficult fix. The easy fix was to replace a section of the pipe leading to the valve. However, he recommended repiping all of our galvanized piping leading from the main line to the house. Our pipes are 66 years old and he said they can go at any time. I never got pressured to do one or the other option and he was very friendly and professional. PWC prices their jobs based on the job, not the number of hours. This can be good for complicated jobs, but this also meant my quote ($5800) was steep and (I believe) higher than other plumbers would charge.

I asked him how much they charge to replace a toilet and he said the labor is $375 (not including the toilet) and that there is a $100 rebate from Board of Water Supply for replacement toilets.

I'm going to get another estimate and then make a decision.

PROS: Professional and Took His Time
CONS: Expensive, Charges by the Job
