I work for a MedSpa and Physicians office where looking good is very important and I had let my poor hair fall by the wayside. I went to Toni & Guy and met with Adrianne who is the Floor Manager and Colorist who made my poor hair Dazzle.

I have been a customer of Toni & Guy @ Lakeline Mall for many years. If you are looking for a great color tech, you should call and make an appt. with Clayton. He is everything you are looking for when it comes to color and highlighting.

Recently, I went to Toni and Guy at Lakeline Mall to get some highlights done. A colorist named Michi did my hair and I was really impressed. I've never had my color done this well and I've been getting lots of compliments on my hair!

I rarely ever get my hair cut because it always seems to be so expensive and every hair cut I get is a disaster. Toni and Guy was, sadly, no different. I'd heard a lot of good things about Ramses and tried to get an appointment with him, but he wasn't in so I had to settle for someone else. Everyone in the place seemed really... hip, for lack of a better word. The lady who cut my hair (I won't say her name, I don't want to bash her personally), did NOT fit in with the rest of the people who worked there. She was older, probably nearly 40 or so. She had her hair pulled back in a braid. I knew I was in trouble, but I had already committed and didn't want to be rude and leave based on her looks.

The only good thing I can say about her is she gives a mean shampoo. She took over five minutes, and I was in heaven. It was lovely.

I told her what I wanted, and what I didn't want. She didn't listen to me AT ALL. She told me what I wanted wasn't popular right now. Um... I do not care! It's hard for me to see what she's doing because I am blind as a bat and wear glasses, so I didn't see the result until the very end. It took everything I had not to cry in front of her. I never cry over a hair cut because it's just hair and grows back, but I was distraught.

She walked me up front and spent over five minutes trying to push products on me, then lingered around to make sure I was going to give her a tip. My disaster of a hair cut set me back $75.

I don't know what to do. I'm not going back to ask her to fix it for fear she'll butcher it even more, however, I do want something to be done. I just can't afford another $75 hair cut for a while. :(

Long story short, I went in expecting a hip, trendy cut and came out with a hair cut circa 1994. If I had wanted "The Rachel" I would have went to Regis at the other end of the mall and paid $25, thanks.

I was a walk-in Tuesday morning. I had ruined my hair coloring it myself, and hadn't had a good cut in years. Antonio was available. He was very personable. He spent a lot of time evaluating my hair and asked me in detail what kind of style I wanted. He did a special moisture treatment and the products he used really made my hair shine! I am usually disappointed with stylists, but I really like the cut & style Antonio game me. Antonio was EXCELLENT and I highly recommend him.

I won't say I do or do not work at a Toni&Guy Salon, for obvious reasons, but I will say I have great insider information about this salon. First of all for those of you who complained about the service at Barton Creek, I will agree with you because I may or may not have worked there at one point and even as an employee or non-employee I was not treated very nicely. For the person that complained about the blonde gay male at Lakeline, he is no longer working there. If you go to a Toni&Guy salon presently, I would recommend getting your stylist or color technician's cell phone numbers in case they leave T&G. Otherwise you will never find out where they moved to, because yes the Toni&Guy staff is not allowed to tell anyone where previous employess have gone, and they are required to recommend a new stylist at Toni&Guy for you to go to. If you would like recommendations for stylists and color technicians I am going to list their names and reasons to go to them right here, and I will also name any cons of each. STYLISTS!!!!!!!!
April- Awesome personality as well as great stylist. She is not one of the few product pushers at the salon. I would definitely recommend her for your whole family although she is a higher range stylist, and is therefore a little pricey.
Ramses-One of the most rad dudes in the salon as well as being amazing with curly hair especially since he has SUPER curly hair himself. He's so down to earth and will talk your head off, but also listen to your requests. He is a middle of the range price.
Ruby-Store manager and has a great personality. She has tattoos and that obviousy makes her cool =] She is super nice and knows what she's doing. She used to manage in Arizona where a ton of the corporate salons are located, so she knows what she's doing for sure. Antonio- AWESOME AWESOME personality. I've told him multiple times and also told other people this as well. HE IS THE MOST MARKETABLE STYLIST AT THE SALON RIGHT NOW. He has been doing hair since he was 19 in New York, but when you start at Toni&Guy, you automatically start out at the bottom. SO!!! That means that Antonio is basically giving upper level cuts for a lower level price. DO IT.
Christopher-Awesome guy. Knows what he's doing. Down to earth. Great with the ladies haha because he's in good shape and has long hair...kinda like Faubio.
Ashley-Great girl who also knows what she's doing. She gets grouchy if she doesn't havea lunch though.
COLOR TECHNICIANS!!!
Levi-He's fast, professional, listen's to what you want which is very very important when dealing with color. He's also got a great personality and what people would call a beautiful soul.
Adolf-He's about the same level of experience as Levi and also very good, but not as strikingly as fast as Levi. He's also really nice and good at listening.
There are a TON of new color technicians at LAKELINE, and Alondra is an up and coming amazing color tech. Some of them are transfers from other salons out of state, and some are brand new, just out of school, but they still know what they are doing. Toni&Guy DOES have a very high standard for ALL of it's employees.
I HOPE ALL OF THIS OR SOME OF THIS WAS HELPFUL! ...OH! and Clayton is AMAZING! He's not a stylist or color tech yet, but he's great to talk to!!!
NONE OF THE STYLISTS I NAMED WILL PUSH PRODUCTS ON YOU. THERE IS ONLY ONE PRODUCT PUSHER AT THE LAKELINE SALON AND I WILL NOT NAME HIM/HER. IF A STYLIST EVER DOES THIS TO YOU, YOU SHOULD TALK TO THE STORE MANAGER OR CORPORATE ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. TO BE HONEST MOST OF THE STYLISTS AND COLOR TECHNICIANS HAVE REBELLED AGAINST THIS TECHNIQUE BECAUSE THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS AND DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THEIR BUSINESS. CORPORATE AND THE STORE MANAGERS ARE THE ONES PUTTING THE PRESSURE ON THE STYLISTS TO DO THIS. MANY OF THE EMPLOYEES HATE IT BUT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING....KEEP THESE DETAILS IN MIND

He rocks! Toni and Guy are at a total loss without him! He started cutting my hair when he worked at Toni & Guys and when he left, I settled on getting haircuts from other places, not going back to Toni and guys. Nobody cuts hair like Cig. He is pro, ninja, and incredible at what he does. I have not had one bad hair cut from him. He is so patient, precise, and makes you feel completely comfortable and unlike Toni and Guy, the staff, including receptionist, are friendly, do not have attitudes, and are not stuck up. I will follow Cig to the ends of the earth for his hair cuts and everyone else should too. Go see him at Salon Aqua Blue instead.

I took my 9 year old son to the Lakeline Mall -412 on 4/2/09. I am BEYOND dissappointed at the experience. A stylist by the name of Claudia cut, more like butchered, his little hair. It was a simple request of cutting his hair shorter on sides and back, blending it all in and front longer so he can comb it to the left. The end result was my son resembling a BOWL. Not only did she NOT cut his hair straight in the back but left the sides so long it covered the tip of his ears. It was ridiculous. I even requested her to fix it. Which she managed to somehow make it worse. The woman can NOT cut hair. To add insult to injury, when I went to pay, they charged me $49 for this haircut (mind you, I don't mind paying the money for a decent cut) that we could have easily gotten at Supercuts and there they probably would have cut it STRAIGHT! When I told the receptionist, a fohawked white gay male, he just rolled his eyes and said "Well, she is one of our best" OMG, if SHE's the best Toni & Guy can do, then all the standards the company is known for has gone down the gutter. She gives a professional stylist a bad name. How DARE she call herself a stylist! Where did she get her license? Has Toni & Guy stooped so low as to allow just anyone who aquires a hair cutting license to represent them? I know good hairstylists are hard to find, but she was beyond bad. It looks like something a beginning student would do, and to consider her one of the best? Top of the line? How low has Toni & Guys standards really gotten? Now I have to try to find a decent stylist to fix what Claudia messed up for $49!!! Oh, and I have pictures, feel free to email and I'll share their "Master Cutting"

Beware! Bad customer service! I went for some highlights, and they stuck me in the corner and forgot about me! I had to get up and remind them that I was still there, and by then my color was over due :( Then, they didnt have time to dry my hair all the way because another appointment showed up, so they let me go with wet frizzy hair! I was not happy.

Dear,
please google Tony and Guy and you will see what it is about. It's a professional hair salon franchise, which not only encourage but requires to its hair stylists to be updated and take frequent trainings. Therefore, they will never charge you $20 dlls the hair cut. They charge depending on the stylist experience. They start at $34, but each stylist has its own price. I have being doing my hair with two T&G stylists for years. Yes, it?s not cheap, but it worth it. It?s a world of difference in color and style compared to other salons. I would not recommend you to get your kids hair in T&G though, unless you are rich. Next time do not be shy and ask for the cost up-front, after all, we all care for our money. I highly recommend Rasor, Razor (Blade) in the Cedar Park salon. He is awesome, very professional, listens to your requests, and explains you what he is going to do. And they all guarantee their job. If you are not completely happy, they will correct it for no extra price. But like I said, ask everything upfront.

I asked for a little boys haircut and after much waiting--leaving and having them chase me down as I was leaving saying they were ready now....I was astonished when they charged me $49 for his haircut when he was 9 years old. When I called back the next day to check on the price of little boys haircuts she said the price was $34!! Not only was this ridiculous but they ultimately charged me to get more money since it was the end of the night---and I can only assume the manager had left.....NEVER AGAIN--I have told all my friends and am telling you now--stay away from this place!

I recently called to make an appointment to get my hair cut done by my regular stylist Cig. They told me that he no longer worked there and I flipped! Who was going to do my hair? Luckily I was able to find him after I had let someone else at Toni and Guy try to dupplicate his cut...I suppose I should have learned my lesson because this is the second time my impatience has lead me to "ruins" without Cig.I. just wanted to let everyone else know that he is around because I know he has many loyal clients that would miss him tremendously if they could not follow him. He can be found at Crimson Salon at 806 west ave.(around the corner from Whole Foods) I know that it is a drive, but you get what you pay for. I have learned that high dollar is not equated to great cut,but Cig is. Cig has a heart of gold when it comes to keeping his clients happy.I will follow you to any salon, Ciggy. here is his cell for loyal clients in need 512-773-6012

The hair cut is so dull and I'm not very pleased at all. Cig is the only person I trust with my hair I WISH I KNEW where he was. :/

can anyone help me out!!
I would greatly appreciate it.

my email is ohohlook@gmail

Hey christy, I used to work with cig. email me at epoz16@yahoo and I will make sure you guys get back in touch. They play dumb because they are not allowed to give out that info but I know he will be back in town soon. I will make sure you hear from him when he gets back.

I paid $100 and received the worst haircut of my life at the Lakeline Mall location and by the manager no less!
I called corporate in Dallas to lodge a complaint and they were just as apathetic. They never called back after repeated polite phone calls asking that they intercede. They never resolved the situation. Horrible place I would have been better off at Master Cuts.

My first bad experience at Lakelines Toni & Guy was when I had partial highlights, the colorist paid no attention to what I asked for (light brown, caramel highlights) and once my hair was dried I had to go over and show her that there were no visible highlights at all in my dark brown hair. She offered no apology. She then had to redo them and even then I still wasn't happy. I had to put my whole day on hold to sit in there for 4 and a half hours because of her mistake, and was offered no compensation. My second bad experience was for a haircut. I had very long hair and I only wanted a few layers in the bottom to make it a bit lighter. She cut 7 inches off before I'd even finished telling her what I wanted. And lastly, two weeks ago I thought I would try a differnt colorist, and when booking my appointment on the phone I even specified that I wanted someone compentent, so that hopefully there wouldnt be any issues. I turned up for my appointment firstly to be told that the receptionist had given me the wrong time and I needed to wait half and hour, and secondly to see that the person doing my hair would be the the colorist I saw being trained a month or so before. I was kept waiting an additional 45mins whilst she finished off her client before me, and then Levi had to come and take over, because after an hour and 15 minutes I had 4 higlights in, and I was booked in for a full head. Thankfully Levi ended up completing all of my highlights and my blowdry. If it wasn't for Levi I would never be going back, he is the only person there I would recommend. I will never get my hair cut there again though. Risky Buisness!!

Pros: Once you find someone good, as long as you stick with them you'll be fine! Good luck finding someone though!

Cons: Time management, Service, Customer relations... EVERYTHING!

I would rate the place higher, but without Cig it's really just an overpriced mall salon. If anyone knows where he went PLEASE clue me in. I really don't trust anyone else to cut my hair now that it's short. Also, when I asked them at the salon they played dumb and wouldn't tell me.

HORRIFYING BAD SERVICE ON EVERY ASPECT, I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF A SALON.
I had asked for golden brown highlights that came out to be white!!!
I spent over a $100 and got my hair white!
I couldn't even go to work that day, and even after that they wouldn't give me an earliest appointment for correction!!!

When I moved to Austin from Chicago 3 years ago it took me a year before I heard about toni and guy ever since then I will never use anyone else. Victoria, my colorist is amazing with picking the greatest colors and highlights knows exactly what I should use and want even if I don't. I always get compliments on my hair. Sig 9the greatest hairstylst on the planet) cuts and styes my hair. He is great to talk to and is an expert at keeping professionalism, knows what is hot and what is not, and is enjoyable to talk to. I would absolutely recommend this place, and have, to all women and men who want a place that not only knows your hair but also knows you and how to make your hair look its best. Thank God for toni and guy.

Very friendly. Did a great job on my haircut. It was expensive ($80 for a haircut). I am not sure it is worth the price.

The Barton Creek Square Mall and the Lakeline Mall Toni & Guy offer equally horrendous service. From booking an appointment to sitting down with a stylist the attitude is rude and unfriendly. When calling be prepared to be put on hold several times for upwards of 10 minutes. Appointments are canceled fewer than 15 minutes before the scheduled time. The stylists are always running late and in a big rush. I have had a color mistake as well as a botched haircut. I have never had a satisfactory service. I am an understanding and patient person and dealt with the disappointing service on a few occasions because I like to give everyone a second chance. This salon failed each and every time. They are also way over priced for a chain mall salon.

I'm not sure if this is at every Toni and Guy, but the Barton Creek Receptionist seems to be angry at the world, emo type which would explain why she doesn't want to help people that want to get a haircut. I scheduled my appointment on the phone, but my girlfriend was thinking about getting one as well until she spoke with the receptionist. The haircut was good, but the customer service was pretty poor especially for the price. paid about 50 for a guy cut. Had hair all over my clothes because the stylist did not blowdry the hair off the cape that they use to cover you during the hair cut then she offers after all the hair is on my clothes. Her neighbor "Savin" brags about how much commission she got from selling to customers. I had no idea that they made money this way, but I thought it was weird to bring it up in front of a customer. From what I hear from some of my friends that go to her she guilt trips you into buying the product because she gives you a discount. Hope this helps.

I WOULDN'T THINK OF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! I RECENTLY MOVED TO AUSTIN AND WHEN I MOVED I ASKED A FRIEND WHAT SHE RECOMMENDED IN AUSTIN AND SHE SENT ME TO TONI AND GUY AT LAKELINE! THAT IS WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR. SHE TOLD ME IT WAS AN EDUCATIONAL SALON, AND BOY WAS SHE RIGHT! I GOT TO TALKING ABOUT THE EDUCATION WITH MY STYLIST, AND LET ME TELL YOU IT MUST TAKE A LOT TO WORK THERE. MY STYLIST WAS TELLING ME ABOUT ALL THE EDUCATION HE HAD BEEN THROUGH AND EVEN THOUGH HE HAS BEEN THERE YEARS HE STILL CONTINUES TO GROW AND LEARN WITH KNOWLEDGE AND CUTTING EDGE TECHNIQUES. I WAS COMPLETLEY SATISFIED NOT TO MENTION THAT WHEN I WENT BACK FOR MY FOLLOW UP I GOT COMPLIMENTS UP UNTIL IT WAS TIME TO GET IT CUT AGAIN. MY STYLE LASTED THE WHOLE SIX WEEKS. THANKS GUYS!

BARTON CREEK LOCATION: Changing stylists is a tough decision, & really takes time and consideration. I like to talk to stylists to get a feel for their ideas and attitude. I stopped into T&G in the mall thinking I would be going to a place with highly educated staff. I was treated so rudely, and really as if they would be doing me a favor by doing my hair. HORRIBLE. I did not appreciate the condescending way in which I was spoken to...nevermind the completely disinterested pseudo-greeting/glance I received from this particular stylist when I approached her and politely introduced myself. I wouldn't trust her with my hair. She wouldn't even look me in the eye whilst speaking to me, what makes me think she would concern herself with my hair while styling it? *ugh* I'm disgusted.

I recently moved here to Austin, from Dallas, Tx. and was referred to this salon by a neighbor... I was very impressed with my stylist experience with hair. And I can say that my hair color has never been so natural looking with the highlight service I received. And the staff was very polite, and professional.

This is a good place for a mall cut. I did a walk in cut and highlite. The staff was friendly and personable. Not the best cut or color but acceptable. I would return.

After taking my daughter to this salon to get 20" of hair cut off and a new "very cute" style, I thought I had found a salon that could be trusted. I couldn't have been more disappointed when I went to get my own transformation. I went on a very rainy Valentines Day. I walked in with sopping wet hair for my 11am appointment. The stylist was not pleasant and I listened as he discussed the amount of his wages were being garnished for child support. His conversation overshadowed any answers about the way I desired my hair to look. I walked in with a sexy style in mind, and out less $130 and with an embarrassing cut and style. The long layers I requested now included layers that were less than 1" and the waves were instead simply clumps of styling product. I wouldn't return if they paid me.

Since my usually hairstylist moved to a different state I have bounced around from salon to salon all over austin. I am now incredibly happy with Riser at Lakeline Toni and Guy. The man can cut some friggin hair! Charges about 55 but is definately worth it. My hair can grow out for 3 months and still look good. My friend who also goes to him said that he is the only person she will let go near her naturally curly hair. (he has curly hair too) Hope this helps!
