Pros: You'll learn through the school of hard knocks with them.

Cons: Takes the longest detour possible to increase your fare

Horrible! As other reviews on the web point out, this company will not help out if you lose something. Called immediately after losing an item, probably in their cab. Driver never responded to dispatch about the issue, dispatch eventually pushed me off on "lost and found" (not open on weekends in Vegas!!!! Do they know where they are operating?); they never called me despite repeated message. Avoid this serivce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During my last visit there, only one taxicab company tried to pull the "long haul" stunt on me and it was ABC Union Cab. Going from MGM Grand to Thomas & Mack (walking distance, but I couldn't in the heat) is just down Tropicana, but ABC Union Taxi took off in the opposite direction, made a bunch of scenic detours, and finally came to the location from the opposite direction. I called the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority as soon as the taxi left, and an officer arrived in maybe 15-20 minutes with the complaint forms. If enough people who got ripped off by this guy reports it, they'll help the industry by weeding out the dishonest scum who ruin it for the honest workers.

If it already happened to you, go to the Nevada Taxicab Authority website here to file a complaint:

http://taxi.state.nv.us/ComplaintInstructions.htm (or google " NEVADA TAXI CAB AUTHORITY" if the link doesn't show up.

Whenever you're in a cab and it feels like you're being taken for a (long haul) ride, jot down the driver's name, cab number, time you got picked up, and whatever other details you can get. In my experience, the majority of cab drivers are honest. Don't let the bad ones ruin your trip or the reputation of cab drivers in general. Help weed them out and file a report.

It's a good idea to keep their number in your cel phone. The number is also posted in the cab. The Taxicab Authority's phone number is: (702) 668-4000

They're a great help.

I had the displeasure of getting an ABC Cab when I arrived. The driver was obnoxious and never shut up, and of course he took me on a complete tour of the city, making a $10 ride from the airport to the strip cost $30! As if this wasn't bad enough, he then refused to give me my change as I obviously didn't want to tip. And during the whole ride he complained bitterly about everyone in Las Vegas being corrupt, how much he has to pay for food, and everything else going wrong in his dishonest life. I will never take an ABC again, and if you don't want to be ripped off you should avoid them at all costs.
