Only attend BYU if you enjoy living a high standard of life that focuses on clean living and avoids the usually riotous "college experience". BYU's honor code is strict to inspire excellence and healthy living, not to supress personal freedom. Each student at BYU voluntarily signs the honor code and thus is expected to follow his/her word. BYU is a well-kept campus and an excellent university. I would recommend it to anyone who seeks learning without many of the common distractions.

Brigham Young University campus is one of the nicest campuses I've ever visited. The grounds are kept tremendously clean and cultivated with seasonal flowers and such. BYU is located about 5 minutes off the freeway and offers a variety of free events and concerts put on by students. The BYU Museum of Art is open to the public free of cost and if you are a visitor, there is plenty of parking right next to the Museum. Located on campus is the BYU Bookstore as well- 3 stories of services of all sorts.

Brigham Young UNiversity is such a wonderful university. I got my bachelors at BYU and loved the classes, professors, but most of all the atmosphere. BYU has high standards that students and faculty and staff are expected to live by, and therefore you can concentrate on your education and making lasting friendships. There are so many clubs and other activities to do. There is always something to do that will help you better your life.

I know BYU is a private university owned by the LDS church, and tuition here is much cheaper for out of state students (even lower for LDS members). But I cannot tolerate their constant violation of students' basic human rights and constitutional rights. The have this rediculous honor code you have follow to the letter. My husband was kicked out of a intrumural soccer game simply because he didn't shave for two days (and he doesn't grow a lot beard quickly). As a student you can only live in apartments/houses approved by the school. They have many many restrictions like these. So unless you simple could not afford tuition from other schools and can sacrafice a great deal of your freedom, avoid like plague.

I attended BYU for my undergraduate degree and loved the education I received and the time I spent there. The university is quite large (30,000 students) but as you get into your program of choice, the class sizes decrease and you really get the education that you are looking for! There are rules that you have to follow so you have to be aware of that before you attend.
