Well, how unfortunate to hear about all these hard-to-believe comments about this location; first of all, guys, spell check, dear lord, your reviews here make you look more ignorant and it discredits anything you are saying,

My partner and I go to this Cody's at least once every two months, and aside from an awful server experience with Dom who no longer works here, our food experience has never been poor, and we always ask for Ashley or Sarah or Tino, and they have always been great and helpful. The Super Top Sirloin is a favorite of ours, and it has always been made to order, extremely tender and flavorful.

Frank and Kenny who run the place are two of the friendliest people you will meet, we strongly recommend this location, great food, great location, great prices.

We recently visited the local codys roadhouse and had a party of 5 people. We arrived and was greated and given a card to wait to be seated. We then went to the bar and got ourselfs a drink. After around 15 mins we were then called to be seated. We sat down and was greated by a unfriendly server that we always seem "sarah". We asked for jack and coke and were ID'ed I couldn't belive it as we already had jack and coke and we are over 40 and had our 18 year sons + daughter with us they were drinking soda. We are english but are very oftern in the states and belive she was making a point as we was not ID??ed at the bar. We then waited around another 15 mins to be asked what we would like to order. We were asked if we wanted upgrades on the food and we said yes this included cheese and bacon on the mash for an extra couple of bucks. We then had to call her over around 20 mins later for more drinks she made herself seem to busy to help us.

Around an hour after ording the food we recived it, several problems were noticed, these included no cheese and bacon yet we were billed for it, very small ammount of sauce on ribs and several looked like they had been eaten. Recived combo fajatazs that was meant to be chicken and beef yet there was no beef, we were also billed for the combo when we only got the one. The server threw the food on the table and ran off before we got the chance to notifiy her. Nobody came round to check everything was ok for around 20 mins by this time we were 3/4 though the food, we notified the waiter of the problems and her attitude stinked her responce was "What do you want me to do about it?" This seemed very rude. By this time were done and the waiter then said "Large tips are appricated but not required" We also found this unnessary and rude.

We then got the bill and asked to speak to the manger as the combo was still on the bill. He came over offering to get the beef even though we had finnished the meal. He then went off to fix the bill he came back and nothing had changed and he said there was nothing he could do. At this point we wanted to just pay the bill and leave and never return again. We paid with 2x$100 and the bill came to $138 we got the change and as I was putting the money in my wallet sarah was still standing next to me trying to intimidate me. I had $4 that I still had on the table under my hand that I wasnt sure what I was going to do yet and she snatched from my hand and that started to shout at us that it wasnt her problem. As we were walking out of codys she was shouting very loud and everybody was looking I feel this was very unprofessional of her.
To recap we eat alot at codys and have recently had a couple of bad experiences and we are not going to return after this. If the manager had been more willing to help this would of possibly changed things. We very oftern spend a couple of hundred bucks but we will go elsewhere now. This has put a sour taste at eating there again it was possibly a bad night but the team as a whole let us down.

My sister lives in the area and is known by the staff including the manager that was on duty yet still our experience was almost as horrid as the other reviewer when it came to service. They had run out of their infamous rolls and instead of allowing the dough to rise baked it flat! The "rolls" served were hockey pucks. The salad was overdressed.

The steaks were very good.

I have previously visited this location about a month ago with my family, a party of 5. That was our first visit and everyone really enjoyed the food, especially the rolls with cinnamon butter! Unfortunately we were there for about two and a half hours for dinner! It took 40 minutes just to order our food they were so busy.

With the food being as good as it was, I justified giving Cody's another chance this past Sunday. This time though it was with a date, so it was a bit more important than when I've gone with family.

I phoned the restaurant for the call ahead seating and was immediately put on hold. I held for 5 minutes and needed get on the road, so I gave the phone to a family member and asked them to tell them 6:10 PM. About ten minutes after I left, I received a call from my family on my cell telling me they were hung-up on, but eventually got my 6:10 call ahead placed for me.

Upon arriving approximately 6:15 the hostess apparently could not find my call ahead. She kept scanning her booklet and asking my name, but never told me if it was or wasn't there. Instead she handed me an eight of spades and told us to take a seat until our card was called. We sat outside for almost 40 minutes as about 8 people were called ahead of us and the eight of spades never being called. The hostess seemed confused and said she had called us, and started to seat us. She had to stop, because a group leaving was complaining about the service they just received. After listening to their complaint, she seated us near the middle of the restaurant.

Our waitress Danielle arrived quickly and wrote her name and her managers (Sofia) name on our table. We asked for waters as we pondered the drink list. When Danielle returned I ordered happy hour Strawberry Daiquiris and Margaritas.

Danielle said no, it was after 7 PM and we didn't qualify for happy hour. I showed her my watch indicating 6:55 PM to which she apologized and proceeded to take the rest of our order. We received one daiquiri and one margarita at 07:09 PM. I inquired with the unidentified male who delivered the drinks about the happy hour and he said that the waitress submitted the ticket after 7, so we did not qualify! Soon Danielle returned and I asked her about this and she replied that we had in fact ordered after 7 PM, so we would only be getting single drinks.

Soon afterwards my date's salad is delivered by the same guy who brought the drinks. He then asked what I ordered (Chicken Parmesan) and told me that there was a mistake. The order was submitted as only the salad, and as an appetizer. There was nothing about my meal on the ticket. He apologized several times and promised my meal as soon as possible. After about five minutes Danielle arrives back to check on us and I ask for silverware and rolls ? yes, no silverware as my date sat there with her salad. She returns with both and my meal arrives around this time as well. The food was great; I truly enjoy your dishes. I didn't want to ask for more rolls and cinnamon butter, because I was afraid of what else could go wrong.

After eating Danielle brings the check totaling $33 and time stamped at 06:54PM and I ask for her manager Sofia. She comes and and sits down and I explained the entire situation to her. She was very apologetic and couldn't comprehend why Danielle didn't get her to override the drinks. She took the drinks off our bill which now was $21. I felt so bad for Sofia! There was a complaint when we arrived, we had a problem, and then as she was leaving our table she was whisked away to another table with complications!

I thoroughly enjoy the food, atmosphere, and its convenient location. With two negative experiences and the second being by far my worst, I can't really see myself visiting the Bradenton location anymore. There seems to be some serious problems at this branch which need attention.

I forwarded a copy of this to the company via their website on 10/31/06 and have yet to receive a response.

** I did not ask for a discount for crappy service. I'm not a cheapo, I intended to pay the bill in full. I just wanted to make the manager aware of the lacking service. My girlfriend also was complaining about the service. I would recommend maybe the take-out service. **
