Greek Theater

I recently saw the manu chao concert here and the setting is amazing. the stage is set in front of - surprise - a greek structure resembling the parthenon, and the seats are arranged in a semi-circle that goes up several levels reaching a grass hill that can be the site of a nice picnic. From the top level you can catch a glimpse of the berkeley clock tower in the setting sun. closest to the stage is a flat area where you can feel the collective emotion of the crowd looking up at the performers. the accoustics are also amazing.

The Greek Theatre offers a unique concert experience. It's an outdoor amphitheater with tiered, flat, concrete seating at the higher levels. Below, there's regular chair seating. Nothing beats an outdoor amphitheater concert during sunset, when the weather is fairly warm! They get big act like the Pixies and Harry Connick Jr. Prices are worth it!

The greek theater is your ticket into big budget performances at an affordable price (it's great to be a CAL student isn't it?).

Your money will go a long way here because you will enjoy the performances by world-class artists (the likes of John Mayer, Redman, etc.) in a nice outdoor atmosphere, frequented by people you already know.

The location is excellent, the prices are just right, and you will be happy watching the performance with all of your friends here.

I like attending the Greek Theater for concerts because it has a unique feel to it. This amphitheatre is modeled after the open-air stone theaters in ancient Greece, and provides a unique setting for all types of live shows throughout the year, in dance, music, or theater. I find that the ticket prices for music concerts to be a bit expensive here however, usually upwards of $40 or even $50 for a show. But the crowds are usually energetic, and the acoustics are great.
