My dog has only been to K9 to 5 a few times but we have had a good experience. I am not living in Milwaukee area but came from IL. to visit family. I called k9 to 5 a few days before my visit and they agreed to take my dog with out an assessment if I had a letter from the dog day care my dog goes to in IL. (a behavior assessment is required before a dog can spend the day there. They usually do this before a dog comes but because I was from out of town in would have been impossible. I was very happy they do assessments and happy to supply the letter. ) I thought it odd that they required two kennel cough vaccines per year but after speaking to my vet, he said its a good idea for dogs who attend day care or are frequently in kennels. My day care in IL. is now strongly recommending it as well. After his day at K9 to 5 I was given a verbal report of my dogs day and he was very tired! My dog and I were happy with K9 to 5's service. He will attend every time we are in the area!

PROS: Polite staff, good price, fun for my dog!
CONS: None that I am aware of!

We started taking out yellow lab to K-9 to 5 in May when he was 10 months old. At first we were really excited about this daycare. On the surface it looked like they had worked everything out before opening this business. Then we started having issues. We created a schedule and signed up for all 10 days of our package. Then after a few times of going there we were told by the owner that we should choose one specific day a week for our dog to go. We had already done that when we signed up. His day was Mondays unless it was a holiday week, then it was Thursdays. Our next problem came when our dog got kennel cough. It really wasn't a big deal until they told us that he had to have 2 bordatella shots per year. We didn't agree with this, and neither does our vet. After doing some investigations we found that the daycare and their vet were some of the only people requiring 2 shots per year. Other kennels and daycares we looked into didn't require this. Our vet believes that 2 shots is over vaccination. Then on the Thursday of 4th of July week our dog had a scratch and bump on his nose when I picked him up from daycare. Noone said anything to me about it when I picked him up. The following Monday when we picked him up from daycare we received a note that he was humping another dog and it had bite him on Monday. I told the owner that he was not bit on Monday and that it happened on Thursday. All she said was oh. She didn't even seem concerned that it went unnoticed the week before. Also, they told us repeatedly that our dog was a humper. However, he has never had a humping issue anywhere else. Even our trainer was suprised to hear that he had a humping issue.

PROS: Good location, competitive prices
CONS: Poor Management, wants to over vaccinate the animals
