AMAZONIA IS AMAZING! Amazonia is the huge rainforest exhibit that opened up last year. My family and I had such a great time at the zoo. The new entrance with the fountains to play in was a huge hit as well. WE couldn't believe that a city the size of Evansville had such a great zoo. They also had lion, tigers, camels, giraffes, zebra, otters, and a lot more. Can't wait to visit again!

The zoo is tiny. Most of the animals are well kept but are so old that they just wander around like little old ladies with nowhere to be. The staff (if you can find them) are usually not very talkative, and god forbid you ask them about something. I literally had one of them turn and all but run when I walked towards them to ask a question. Overall not a horrible day, but definitely a short one. As far as the conditions, Most of the cages, yes cages because they are too small to be called exibits of any kind, are generally well kept, but there is always a lot of debris and tall weeds/grass along the walking paths and in the cages. Again not a bad experience, but not a great one either.

We love going to the zoo with our 3 yr old and 21 month old. It's not very big but the kids love it. Our favorite thing to do is feed the giraffes. I would say the down fall of this zoo is the food stands are always closed. The prices are reasonable as well.

PROS: You get to feed the giraffes
CONS: Food stands are always close

the park was clean and not very crowded which gave us a chance to get closer to the animals. We had fun visiting the zoo and feeding some of the animals. My children were amazed to see the different exihits and how similar they were to the wild. It was worth the trip down for us.

This zoo isn't huge because it isn't located in a huge city. But it is a nice local zoo. The price isn't outrageous, actually pretty cheap. If you are local it is definitely worth the membership which provides free admission. They offer a tram and paddle boats. Their new kids area is awesome. Parking can be a pain as the main lot is small. But they zoo isn't very crowded at most times.

Okay, so it isn't a big city zoo, but it is still great! They have I think the oldest hippo in captivity. They have a great area near the petting zoo where the kids can play and learn about the animals. They trails are full of hills to make the walk a good exercise. Parking is limited and hard to manuevre. The price for a day is a little high but the membership is reasonably priced if not cheap! It is good for a year and they are open year round. Even Christmas. They have a gift shop and paddle boats. They also rent wagons for the little ones. They offer a tram for the ones too tired to make it back up the hills and bumper boats for the kids.
