My son loves this place as much as I did as a girl. It's a huge castle that a man built with his wife during the twenties or thirties, I believe. It is rumored to be haunted! So, it has an interesting history and it is just huge and creepy as well as beautiful and strange. They have alot of stuff to do around Halloween. It's very interesting!

John Hammond, Jr. built this medieval-style castle circa 1926 to 1929. Hammond was an inventor who held over 400 patents before hisdeath. His most widely known for the Hammond Organ. The Castle rooms each showcase a different aspect of Hammonds life... from inventor to collector.

We explored this castle one summer day. The grounds were gorgeous and well kept. There was a lot climbing involved over narrow staircases as we explored each floor of the castle(including a hidden room and staircase!). At the very top was a medival style tower prison!

Closed in the Winter

PROS: Gorgeous ground; inexpensive price
CONS: not everything handicapped accessible
