Biggest Pastrami Sandwich I have ever seen!  4 Star Rating - Very good

My husband and I were told about Carnegie Deli as a must for a pastrami sandwich. Our friend said to split one and you still won't be able to finish it! He was right. The service was so-so, a bit chaotic and you sit at tables with people you don't know. We were ok with that. The cheesecake was out of this world. We could literally not eat for 2 days after visiting the Deli.

One of New York's Landmarks  5 Star Rating - World class

A true Landmark in New York. Huge portions, very huge.. order and share. A fun place to relax after seeing the sights of the big apple. A feast for the eyes and the stomach alike. A true taste of what New York Deli's are known for!

awesome food  5 Star Rating - World class

I took my husband when we starting dating, he absolutely adored the experience. The potato pancakes are simply superb and served with both sour cream and apple sauce. The sandwiches are huge and they do charge you extra if you want to share. Rumor has it if you eat 2 sandwiches, the first one is free. I don't know how anyone can do that. Just a great place to just stuff yourself full.

The Food is not what I expected from the the HYPE about the place  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

We were starving one night and decided to go there for a good old fashioned Hot Pastrami on Rye.... I hate to say it but the Deli has gone a little Art Neveau in style...... Everyone who who was anyone was there as far as the circles of friends in NY Society..... The place was packed, we waiting in line for 2 hours.... It was not what I had remembered from years prior to going back.... The prices sky rocketed, you were cramped into there with no room to move, the food was so so, not as good as I have had in a Hot Pastrami Sandwich, especially when they brought it to me with maynaise... Now to me that is NASTY.... Mustard is the only thing that belongs on the sandwich.... It is tru it was on the side, buth the thought of it was horrible to me being brought up on jewish foods.... It is worth the experience to go there if you are a tourist, but to go there as a regular eatery I do not suggest it....

PROS: Food is decent, too loud and crowded for my taste
CONS: Not the same as it was years ago
