I have been their customer for 6 months.I went with a group of 20 people in this resturant last saturday night. The music was great and the food was good as usual but the manager(fat guy) was so bad behavior and rude. I was their customer but I promised myself never go there till they change this rude manager.

I was bummed to see this place boarded up and looking like it closed down for so long. This summer it re-opened it's doors and had some nice renovations done. I like the outdoor patio they have, but the inside is very nice too and they always have live music. I'm not too impressed with their menu, but you can't go wrong with a few of their appetizers or their small personal pizza with some of their tasty drinks. I personally like the oysters or frito-misto appetizers. Good service and nice atmosphere, fun way to start an evening.

Enrico's has outdoor space in the front of the restaurant. It's tucked in from the street so its quieter. They have heat lamps outside but on a windy day, you can really feel it b/c its situated on the corner. The decor is nice and there was a band playing with a nice sounding woman singing. The service is attentive but our waiter was a bit deadpan but still friendly. For apps we had the clam with chorizo and tomato sauce--highly recommended! And for entree we had the pan iron steak made as ordered. They also have house made pasta and that was incredible. Definitely worth going back to again.

I have patronized Enrico's for many years and I have watched the place go up and down, but at dinner tonight the place hit a new low. The maitre d'hotel, after the long wait to be acknowledged, seemed drunk as a skunk as he reeled around the room sloppily, and the waiter was patronizing and attitudinal. The food is OK, as are the drinks, but the service really queered the experience. The reason to go here is great jazz with no cover charge. That's worth a lot. Just don't expect more.

Cons: unprofessional server, ridiculous 'tude

Loved the outdoor seating with a great view of the Financial District and the Broadway foot traffic. The live jazz is always a nice touch. The food was average and a bit pricey. The portions weren't all that huge either. I think this place is better for drinks and socializing than dining. Service was consistent with what it should be. Nothing outstanding, but by no means bad. If you're looking for a good meal, there's better locations in North Beach. But a great place just hang out.

Pros: Atmosphere, Outdoor Seating, Live Jazz

Cons: A bit pricey food

Enrico's blends jazz music with Mediterranean and Italian food selections. Our incredible server helped us navigate through the list of tasty cocktails and settled our debate over which appetizers sounded even better than the rest. The music was lovely and the people-watching was top-notch. We had a wonderful time and look forward to sampling the rest of the menu as soon as possible.

PROS: Tasty Appetizers, Terrific Service, Ambiance and Music
CONS: Can be hard to get a table

Enricos is one of my favorite spots to start a partying night in North Beach. The food is really, really very tasty, it is located in a very central part of town, is totally easy to get to, and they have a beautiful outdoor patio. Its a little pricey for my pocketbook, but North Beach always is.

I arrived at Enrico's at 6PM on a Sunday night after the North Beach festival. I was promptly seated at an inside table near the window. My waiter was very efficient and courteous even though he and the other 2 waitstaff were kept jumping. I ordered the lasagna, which arrived quickly and piping hot. With a cold beer and the fresh crusty bread, it made an excellent meal. I lingered over coffee and dessert to listen to the Jazz music. Even though the place was very full by 8PM, I never felt rushed or pressured. All-in-all, a very pleasant dining experience.

Delight salad, Great steak, good Jazz music. Tasty creme caramel. I had a great 1st date there...

There's a parking lot next to the restaurant.

I went to Enrico's last Friday for the first time for a friends birthday and had one of the best experiences I can remember. What a great place, our waiter was so cool, he joked with us all night and gave us great service, the food was far better than I'd expected (you have to try the pork chop) and the jazz band was awesome. (definately not the place to go for background music)
I can't wait to take my husband there.

Closest thing to Paris in SF, a great outdoor cafe/bar/rest, free music, good food, my favorite in San Francisco! Don't forget to try the Mojitos.

I had dinner at the bar at Enrico's last Monday nite and had one of the best times of my life. Pizza, pear salad, and a nice dry white wine that the bartender recommended. I met a poet, a calligrapher, an aromatherapist, and a painter, and the conversation was enlightening. The best part of the night was the boogie woogie piano player.

Like most of the reviews say (at least those who have some knowledge of what a dining experience should be) take your business elsewhere. The wait staff needs to take Service 101, the chef (I use the term loosely here) must have slept through most classes, except "How to Make Your Food as Bland as Possible" and "Cream versus Water Sauce". As for the wine, at the price per glass, I would expect something above the notch of "screw cap".

Like a previous reviewer, we had a bad dining experience here. That should tell you something.

Bad service, long waits, LOUD music during music. What a waste. Except for the location, I can't see why this is rated so highly. Go elsewhere--I know I will from now on.

Six of us just went on Friday, 10/29, and were pretty disappointed. The service was so terrible, that our entire meal took THREE hours to complete. We waited forever to order, get our appetizers, have our plates cleared, get our water glasses refilled, etc. Plus, the live band makes it very difficult to hear conversation. The food was pretty decent, but overall, we were not happy with this place. I will never go there again.

Beware of the host that answers the phone!
This location is in a great spot, it looks great, but the service is terrible - over the phone atleast. The host had no time for me when I called for a reason other than to make a reservation. When I was asking for the cross street, he actually cut me off and said, "oh, you're gonna make me cry" and "can you call me later". Have you ever heard of such a thing from a restaurant? I'll never patronize this restaurant. Too rude for my taste!

I've been to Enrico's a couple times and I was disillusioned. The prices are way too high for food that is average at best. There are so many fabulous restaurants with better prices! It is incredibly crowded and loud with slow service. I'm thinking it is successful only due to the location in the touristy North Beach.

We had one night in San Fran and chose Enrico's for dinner. The neighborhood is "colorful" - and I liked it. It was a really cook place. The music was wonderful, the waiter was attentive and the food was really good (though not outstanding). I didn't think fried olives sounded very good, but I heard I just had to try them and was glad I did. They were delicious! Overall, there was just a good vibe about the place.

What's with all the praise about Enrico's? I just recently went with my wife for the first time, mostly to see my friend's jazz trio. They were by far the highlight of the experience, for the food and service were average at best -- just not priced that way. We had some cheese plate appetizer that was pretty good, but our entrees were... well, just average. It's the sort of food I might find at a place like, say, Park Chow, just with better presentation and doubled prices. The service was also average at best. Basically, it's a meal I'd quickly forget if it didn't fall so short of hype and expectations. The jazz was good though.

enrico's is great, I have been going there since I was a kid. It is one of the best patios in the whole city. The food is excellent, though a little pricey, but for the most part, it is all worthwhile. The service is professional and top knotch, and I felt like my family and I had a real memorable occasion at enricos. I can't wait to go back.

I love Enrico's. The staff always makes me laugh. The food is tasty and the drinks get me drunk. I keep coming back for the crazy atmosphere. I absolutely CRAVE their deep fried olives. The salmon bruschetta is pretty good too...but mostly their staff makes me feel at home. I LOVE you guys. Don't ever change. You are a breath of fresh air in a stagnant world.

Having tried tons of places in North Beach, I have to say that I was disappointed by Enrico's. We made reservations for seven, two of which were only going to join us for dessert. The hostess refused to seat us until the entire party had arrived (even though the last two were coming later in the evening) and then told us they'd have to put us in for a new reservation to get us a table for five instead. We were then disappointed by the food which, mediocre as it was, left us starving for more because of the scant portion sizes. The ambiance is great for enjoying a drink or two but, for a quality dinner, I'd suggest heading to one of the other hundreds of restaurants in the neighborhood!

The patio seating is nice, but the service and the food was under par. The food was ok, but overshadowed by the scant portions and high prices. The crab cakes were literally quarter size in diameter - I had barely eaten it when I forgot what it tasted like! A $13 comes with two. The cheese plate is actually a small cutting board with about 6 thin slices of cheese. The waiter never checked on us and we had to hunt him down for water and the bill. He then spilled water on me and our leftovers and didn't acknowledge it. We canceled our request to have it boxed up. Its best to stick to drinks and music here. Enrico's would do well to live up to its inflated status by putting out more effort and restructuring its menu and pricing.

The menu is small but very good. The desserts which are homemade are fantastic. The trio of sorbets are great. They serve gigantic beers nad have a good Port list. The music is very entertaining. We loved the outdoor tables but hated the smoking. We will be back but sit inside.

I try to get into Enricos a couple of times a month. Nothing in this city can compare to sitting on their patio, sipping on one of their kumquat concoctions and nibbling on fried olives while great live jazz spills out into the night. Its an experience I always look forward to and am never dissappointed.

While the food was fair, the prices were extremely inflated and from the moment we sat down, it was like we had entered a factory and were to be in and out as quickly as possible. Our server rushed us by trying to take our order three times within 10 minutes of seating us despite the empty tables all around us. We ordered a $40 bottle of chardonnay and after pouring it, she placed it on the table with nothing to keep it chilled. When we asked for a cooler to hold it in, she acted as though we had asked her to fly to the moon for us. The food was alright, but the prices were high and the rush combined with the attitude was enough to make for a bad dining experience. Enrico's is a tourist trap and I would discourage anyone from dining there.

If you get reservations, you can forget the patio. (The snooty hostess will tell you, "We don't accept reservations for our patio" after you've been lead to believe it's possible. Otherwise, there's no need to get one.) But once inside, there's a good bar for mixed drinks, live jazz on some evenings, and food that is actually decent -- even for SF standards.

The appetizers are typical for the area. The pasta is decent, though there's better further into North Beach. Their grilled meats are better. And they actually make a decent espresso for a restaurant.

One major problem is their wine storage. Paying $40 (and up) for a bottle on a rare warm evening, I did not expect my wine to be served at the temperature of Chinese tea (at least 85F). Thus I presume their wine stocks are suspect -- subject to premature decline due to improper storage.

I just had dinner at Enrico's and had a really great time. The food was fabulous, and thanks to our server's recommendation of some headache-proof vodkas, my boyfriend and I didn't have hangovers the next day even though we certainly indulged in yummy martinis and kumquat caipiroshkas. Loved the live music going on in the dining room, and even got our pics taken by a funny little lady with a polaroid who I hear is a neighborhood fixture. We heard they're doing brunch on the weekends so we're going back soon to have eggs benedict on the patio. Enrico's is a blast!

I live a block away from Enrico's and i have always wanted to go. I finally went with my friend and not only was our service awful (they switched waiters on us twice), but the food was extremely meager. We got the crab cakes for our appetizer and they were $12 and included 2 that were the size of quarters. The ravioli left much to be desired as well. Take my advise, walk and extra block and get some Italian food that is actually good.

Well, first of, the music there is really not special.
We stayed there from 7:30 to 9:30pm, and the singers at that day were just a singer.
Secondly, the food is good but pricy with respect to the portion, tiny food with high price.

The servie is ok!
Comparing with other restaurants in Broadway, Enrico is just one of them without any unique places.

Wanted to try Black Cat across the street -- but it was closed for business. We "settled" for Enrico's -- and boy, am I glad we did. Great outside table under a heat lamp, friendly/funny waitress. Good wine, good food (butternut squash ravioli to die for). Live jazzy band with a singer evocative of Paris in the 60's. The night was topped off by sipping Armenac and watching a couple swing dance at the bar. Fabulous. I will now purposefully go to Enrico's.

The night was topped off by sipping Armenac and watching a couple swing dance at the bar. Fabulous. I will now purposefully go to Enrico's.

Pros: outside seating, heat lamps, live jazzy music

Cons: smelly street people

.

Are you freakin' kidding me? This place is awesome! I had dinner, outside, on a beautiful night, under heaters, with a funny, attentive, amazing, knowledgeable blue eyed waitress! I had one of the best dinners of my life! The risotto is fabulous, as is the pear tart. I will be back, and will reccomend this place to all.

I don't know what everyone below is talking about. A the food is great all of you agree. We ate here after reading a review and had a good time. We sat outside and were able to smoke. we had some excellent food and wonderful coffee. I like the service at Enricos. the waiter helped when needed and left us alone when we wanted to talk. All in all a great place to go.

How can you beat that? Great place to grab some food and drinks but definitely can use some help in the service department. We had to ask our waitress three times for drinks!

Pros: mojitos, great appetizers

The food was fantastic - perfect actually (the ahi tuna appetizer was gorgeous, and the scallops were perfect). The atmosphere and ambience was lovely, if just a bit too loud. The service, however, was among the worst I've ever experienced in my life. As an example, I had to get up and cross the room to where all the servers were hanging out (interestingly, nowhere near any of the tables - where people actually needed service) to ask for utensils to eat our dessert, because they had left us staring at our creme brulee for a good 15 minutes without a thing to eat it with. Sadly, I can't recommend this place... the service is so frustrating it completely destroys the rest of the experience.

I don't understand the complaint about service from the earlier poster.I go to Enrico's often.Mainly I go for the excitement and the people there.I know it well enough to know when the croud is getting wild.Mainly by watching how the staff handle an electrically charged often demanding room full of people.I have had the misfortune to sit next to "fine diners" who don't get it and they never will. My advice:hang tight, get to know your server, they are very funny people.Especially get to know the big blond at the door.Very helpful and can make any thing happen.Make her like you and you're golden.

Cons: some bridge and tunne, can be packed at bar

Enrico's is a place I want to like- a great location, pleasant ambience, and top-notch food, but it lets itself down with incredibly bad service. On the three occasions I've had a meal here, the service has ranged from inattentive to the almost comically bad. Sorry Enrico's - three strikes and you're out. I won't be returning...

This restaraunt is a bit pricey but the food is great, too bad to have to wait sooo long for service. It is a shame when places like this lack in one of the more crucial aspects of finer dinning, service. I won't be treading through "that" neighborhood again for a meal here..... kinda sad they almost had it right!

Ain't nothin special. Just another bar in this iconoclastic world of corporate greed. I think that there could be something to make this experience more enjoyable, but alas, I can't think of anything

Enrico's offers a wonderful array of quality cocktails using totally fresh ingredients.....which is always amazing to me..... You can watch the fresh ingredients being hand made into a tasty treat right before your eyes. You cannot find anything like it in the city. If you like Mojitos, go see Mr. Mojito himself......I would say that if you are a fan of mint, lime, sugar, rum, and soda then it is imperative you head to Enrico's to enjoy one of these pint glasses of heaven.

PLUS LADIES.....you will not be dissappointed by the eye candy behind the bar.....a little added enjoyment to any evening no doubt.

Try the mussels and oysters, the rib eye steak and the salmon and you'll be sure to come back soon. I personally love the appetizers. Plenty of selections. Drool... drool... I would skip the halibut entree. It wasn't particularly good. It's a great place for dinner or just drinks and appetizers and people watch. Try to sit outside. Enrico's has a wonderful atmosphere with live music inside (check their schedules).

I liked the ambience of the outdoor patio and the food was tasty and well worth the price. However, I was a bit disappointed in the length of time it took for our server to greet us. She must have walked by about five or six times. I know she was busy but it is frustrating to be "sat" when no one is available to at least take a drink order.

Enrico's was such a great experience. My boyfriend and I went for drinks after work last week, we we're greeted with a perfect table on the front porch and superb service. The Mojitos could be the best in town. We enjoyed our time there very much.

The food is good, light and perhaps a bit pricey, but consistantly tasty. The mojitos, however, are phenominal. A great place to relax outside at sundown chat with friends and people watch.
