I needed a job and this was the only place that would hire me, so i was very appreciative of that. I had no complaint about the pay. I did have a problem with my team leader but i got over it.

The Answer Group is not what it was...
by Buddy C.
I worked at TAG during its hey day. It was going downhill when I left. No open door policy, micromanaging, retaliation and that is just the beginning.

Haven't worked here, but:
by Evan H.
have heard lots of horror stories from people who have. Regardless I need employment, so thought I would try them again.
(I had applied with them once before, but told the guy I would be going from fifteen dollars an hour to nine dollars an hour working there, and that my goal was to immediately find a better position in the company. I left when the guy said, "even if it takes a year?")
Went to their website. FAIL! I am on a MacBook using Safari. Their website was goobered up on Safari. I called them and was told it has to be viewed in IE.
Some technical support group; they couldn't even put up a decent web site.

Depends
by fsadafds f.
If you are young and need some kind of tracksheet on your resume you may want to do this for a year or two. The hours are long and the calls can get excruciating..
I did Calls, Call Backs, and QA.
You also have little to no chance of moving to upper management because there are literally a thousand+ employees and the managers work & worked there for years on out. and the pay sucks.. if you are really good with technology, dont go for anything under 20per hr. You will eventually find someone who respects your knowledge.

Oh My God Please

Ok for the people who "JUST LOOOVE IT AT TAG" you have to be someone who is and has been with the company from day one and your nose is no longer working you cant smell the coffee or the roses.
I am Not Bitter I am very happy to have spent time at TAG I did learn a lot i enjoyed it and used it for a great skill and to build a wonderful Job Resumae I do put TAG as one company and then list each of the others as well AT&T ,Comcast,Hughs Net ,and Gateway I worked there almost one year The common workers are nice and sweet The Team leaders are cool for the most part and the Supervisiors are OK and can be delt with the Trainers are wonderful The work sucks the callas are hell and the owner must be out of his ever loven MIND The first review is correct and so are the others there is good and bad But the owner would never see that on my last days there i was fired by a wonderful friend of mine who cried and huged me and said i was no longer needed but told me after she got fired 3 weeks later and a small group of people i know have been fired due to the fact that thay are GAY that is a issue since you have upper managment placing Young people in areas to do a job with out any experince and have no problem talking in a unprofessional manor to other staff about sex guns and queers or to see the guys go to the cars and get drunk from a trunk in sports bottles or sell weed on the floor calling it Green Tea The place will unplug head sets to hang up on callers and leave them hanging as well as keep you in the seat to no go to the bathroom if calls are high it happened to me and thay lie about how the phones work against the common employee if your on hold or calling to another department it will count against you and yes that will tell you that has been fixed or that is not true but it will i keep a time log of all my transfers and all my brakes and all my calls out to other areas and i still was short on time and cut my lunch in half the place sucks

A SET BACK!!!
by Holly J.
I work there as we speak and I am planning to quit within the next 2 months. I AM A MANAGER there and I must say that this job is a trap for those who really need the money and feel as if they can't work anywhere else. They pay the technical support agents $14/hr. but they pay the managers between $14 and $12/hr depending on how their agents do. It's all about sales and who has the quickest calls. After an agent has 10 minutes on a call managers are trained to tell them to wrap it up and set up a callback that RARELY gets done. The technical support agents have no experience in technical support. When the customer calls and reads off an error message that they have on their computer the agents type it in google and then troubleshooting steps come up (even if its just a blog). They have 3 different times of the year that they call the "FIRE HIRE" season, where they fire the people that aren't making as many sales and hire new ones (even though they tell you that the job isn't about sales). They never tell those people exactly why they're being fired (they just say your services are not needed). And even the Team Leaders (thats what they call the supervisors) aren't safe. You can be a Team Leader for 3yrs and then one day you could come in and they'll just tell you "we need you back on the phones, we've found a different Team Leader for your team". Then 2wks later they'll want you back as a Team Leader and that might not be for long. Being on the phone is the most stressful thing, I remember those days o so well. O and if a customer asks to speak to a Supervisor we tell our agents to tell them we're on a call and we'll call them back but we never do and the customers that offer to wait until that supervisor is available, we just leave them on hold for at least 20 minutes and hope that they hang up. If they don't we just unplug the agents headset so that if the call is being monitored by someone at Gateway (the computer company, we take calls for) it'll look like the customer hung up. The technicians have to ask to go to the bathroom/lunch and most of the time we say NO depending on how many calls are in que (they wait for at least an hr.). I think it's wrong to treat ADULTS like KIDS but as managers thats how we were trained. If I let my agents go to the rest room when we have a lot of calls in que then i risk losing my job. The reason why the employees tolerate this is because of the pay!

Funhouse!
by S M.
TAG was a mad house & the turnover rate was high, the program for pay was a mess. I met lots of amazing people and did have fun. Would I recommend this as a career choice no. As a stepping stone yes. There is a facebook group for ex-TAG members.

great place to work
by judith e.
I am a current employee of TAG, I find it to be a great place to work and full of opportunities, with the many different projects TAG has, you receive a vast knowledge of technical skills and computer IT support. While like any other work place in America, it has it's challenges, this work place, you will find, if you are a mediocre employee, instead of termination, one will be transferred to a different account, which seems to be the main point here , to stay employed. I do admire that they try their very best to retain employees no matter how badly the projects may fare. Yeah TAG!

..you are obviously plants. If you are going to plant a fake review, atleast make it look real!
From my Yahoo review about these clowns:
Worked for these people a few years ago and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was just starting out my career in I.T. and was eager to get some professional training. Even though I had heard some bad stories about this place, I decided to give TAG the benefit of the doubt. To cut a long story short, in about my third week there, the "newbies" were required to go back to the training class and report on what we had learned. The class was conducted by two "experienced" TAG employees. One of the employees was a younger gentlemen and the other was a middle-aged woman (I wish I could remember their names!) Anyway, in the middle of the session, the younger guy singled me out (there were about 40-50 people in the room) and called on me to repeat what the older lady had just said. Nervously, I recited what she had told us a few moments ago. Apparently, this wasn't good enough and I was told by the older lady to report back to my manager and tell him why she sent me back to him! I felt like a little school kid being told to report back to the principle! Keep in mind that I was in my mid-twenties and not a 15 year old kid. It was so humiliating. This was truly a case of unqualified managers mistaking "tactlessness" for "tough managerial skills". Needless to say I had it out with my manager when I reported back to him and he seemed to be on my side. At the time I kind of just shrugged it off and simply left the company the next day. I wish I had gone to their higher ups and gotten them in some serious trouble! Why this guy had singled me out, I had no idea. I was sitting there and not chatting to anybody or screwing around. Luckily today I work for an awesome Internet company in Palm Beach County. My path here was a long and arduous one, but atleast my experience at TAG didn't stop me. Anyone out there who are just starting out in this biz, be patient and good things will happen....and, oh yeah, stay away from TAG!

A closed-door policy employment
by jean g.
At The Answer Group ( TAG ), I my opinion, it exists a game being played to avoid paying employee. What do you i mean ? you ask. Well what Mean is that they promise a raise at the completion of a 90 day probation period. This is how it is : You get hired for a two-week training which you get payed $6.69/hr after, you get $10.00/hr for the reminder of the probationary period. Now after this period they promise a raise of $12.00/hr and up, But every month TAG hires a full class to replace people in the probationary period in my opinion so that they dont have to pay much for labor. Now, I know, I was victimised by TAG, doing this this period you may not do anything while you suppose to be learning the job or you fired to make room for the new class. Believe it or not what it did "wrong" was transferring a call to the manager without letting the manager know while the customer requested the manager. Now no write-ups, no suspensions, TAG is about "termination" . Before , people told me about this and I didnt believe them. If you are at TAG be afraid of your own shadow while you are on the job. I believe the government should get involved in this. email me at chandelerus1@yahoo.com if you know a way i get bring this to the attention of authorities. Thanks

I've been at tag for over a year and my bf for 6 months now and we both love it...TAG is a call center, but it's all inbound so the people call you and basically you help them over the phone. ( so it's not telemarketing) You can apply for the job on there website, just take a simple test, and even if you don't do well on the test they will still hire you, the test just tells them what you would be best at, for example: technical support or sales/billing. It's almost garunteed that you will have a great job within days because they are always hiring, even if you've had no experience they will train you, and you get paid the same rate for training! No college or specific classes required. They encourage you to refer your friends and family to work here also, in fact they pay you a $500 for every person you refer that works there at least 6 months! You get a raise every 6 months, paid breaks, 2 hours of vacation every week, and they have lots of different scheduels to choose from to fit everyones needs. the employees are friendly and it's such a pleasent environment to work at. Also you'll getexperience that you can use towards your future career or even knownledge that you'll use in real life, like computer networking or how satelllite tv works. It's a great job for anyone, esspecially if you love to help others. Great benifits, health insurance, etc. It's hard to find employment anywhere nowadays esspecially without a degree but tag makes anyones dreams come true. What are you waiting for?Join TAG and start having fun making lots of money.
