I went in here with a friend because she liked the clothes at the store. We had a very similar experience to the others who have written reviews.

The owner came over to us and here is the conversation that followed:

Owner: You won't find anything in the store because your taste is classic and my store is edgy.
(I just took him be an overzealous owner).

Me: Oh that's fine, I'm looking for something edgy.

Owner: None of these clothes will look good on you. Do you shop here?

Me: I haven't shopped here before. Why, are the clothes too big? (I was still not understanding he wanted me out).

Owner: They are not for you.

Me: Why don't you recommend something then? (I was still not realizing what was happening because this has never happened to me before).

Owner: Nothing in the store is for you.

At this point my friend said: Why are you being that way?! (or something like that). He then said some mean things and we started to walk out. I was still very calm and asked if we had done something wrong and he just said "no no". My friend then told him she used to shop there and she will never shop there again. He kept mumbling something nasty and we left.

I don't know why he acted like this. It was really uncalled for. I am Latina so I also got the feeling he was r@cist, but I don't know for sure.

Bottom line: DON'T SHOP THERE!!

Pros: NONE

Cons: The owner is an abusive person.

Don't be fooled by the clothes in this store. The owner doesn't deserve NYC's business. I've worked in the area for a number of years and have often window shopped in this store. I recently went in with a co-worker and had picked out a number of items to try on when the owner approached my friend and said that it was his inventory day and we couldn't shop there. Interestingly enough, there were other people shopping in the store. We obliged the owners request to leave and went and picked up our lunch. On our way back we passed the store and there were seven new shoppers! The owner caught us looking from the street and started waving his hands shooing us away. I walked up to the door and asked if there was a problem and he said he was only servicing his customers and we weren't included. At that point it was clearly obvious that the owner was discriminating against us. From a business perspective, money is money - it?s all green - regardless of who spends it. Needless to say this store doesn?t deserve any of it! There are many other trendy shops in the city, that don?t have rude owners that would be much a better spend.

The owner basically told me (not directly, under his breath) that there was nothing here for me to buy, so I should leave the store. When I confronted him, he insisted that he was not taking to me. There were two other Asian women in the store that he mistreated as well. A co-worker told me recently that when she went to shop there, the store was closed early because an unhappy customer spray painted ?r*cist? on the front window.
