Extremely rude and unfriendly staff matched by an extremely cold and condescending young doctor. This doctor was curt, cold, gave a hesitant, limp wristed handshake, stood over me while I was sitting the entire time like I was a child, did not listen or aknowledge what I said, think she has English comprehension issues. Seemed rushed and disinterested, and unaware of some of the medical issues I presented. The second followup consult was even worse. I had assumed foolishly that a female doctor might listen better and be more respectful of a woman, especially one at least twice her age, but I was wrong.

Told the front desk that I would make payments. After I made the first payment, they automatically turned it over to a collection agency and added an additional $350 charge!
Outrageous! I have never been treated so poorly at a physicians office anywhere. Stay away.

The only positive thing I have to say is that CRNP Loni Latona was kind and listened to our questions. The problem was that the medical assistant had performed expensive and unnecessary testing before we could even speak with a doctor. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes to be seen and we were 15 minutes early for our appt since it was our first visit. They did more extensive blood tests than we needed, administered ECG testing to my wife and I, which we also had not asked for. When we requested our lab results they would not release them to us. I am a health care provider myself so I know the laws governing medical records. They wanted me AND my wife to schedule another appointment and each pay ANOTHER copay just to tell us things were fine. When I challenged them on the legality of withholding my records from me, they finally obliged. I was referred to a specialist for further testing, the specialist told me that results would go back to Peninsula and I would be contacted. I have never been contacted to this day. Their front office staff, particularly one African American woman, have been terribly unprofessional with sharp remarks, disgusted facial expressions, and a rigid unwillingness to discuss the reasoning behindtheir policies. They would also not accommodate my request to speak with the nurse practitioner personally regarding my concerns. I have never, in all my life and time as a health care provider, seen such deplorable behavior and office dynamics. How many people go back for their "follow-up" appointments and pay another copay without even blinking an eye. If it pertains to the initial visit and there is nothing abnormal to be discussed regarding test results, it should not be double charged. I would never recommend this practice to another soul.

Candy Burns, CRNP is extremely intelligent and assertive. She is the most kind and caring provider I have ever met. I travel from Baltimore every six months for my physical just to see her. No one else compares to the talent and education she has.

I can't say anything about this office. Candy Burns picked up on a heart defect of my young (32yo) wife. She immediately sent her to cardiologist and she was admitted to hospital. John Hopkins Top Cardiologist said that "this is a rare heart disease" discovered 1 out of millions. He was hugely impressed with her expertise and her knowledge. She is an amazing, caring, kind, devoted practitioner. We are lucky to have her here on the Eastern Shore.

This office is amazing. They have finally got "pcp office" right. Any other office you call, and they say "see you in 2 weeks". You call this office and they will see you the same day! They truly care about their patient and don't use the ER as a primary care office.

They have stayed late and seen me on weekends to make sure I avoided me and my mother from being hospitalized.

FINALLY, SOMEONE WHO CARES!!!

OMG. This office is incredible. I saw a Jill Porter who told me i had lymes. she sent me to Dr. gubb and Dr ortel who both were "wacked" I explained this to Candy and she sent me to Infectious Disease at JHH and stated that she thought "i had been misdiagnosed". I felt so "silly and stupid". i told everybody that was why i wonder tired because what Jill had said.

Candy was right. JHH infectious disease told me that he agreed with Candy and I never ever had lyme disease and Jill needs to find "another profession". Jill had me drinking Clay Sand that I had to buy from Dr. Ortel in Easton. OMG!!!

Thank God for practitioners like Candy who will go the distance and not afraid of confrontation and advocates for her patients.

I AM SHOCKED BY THE REVIEWS. DR. Passeri, Candy Burns, CRNP, Dr. Sergeyva (endocrinologist) is the most professional, knowledgeable my family and myself have ever met. She diagnosed my husband with cancer that Dr. Cockey and Dr. Jarrah and Dr. Patrowicz missed or didn't even care to investigate. Candy and the staff spent weekend coordinating my husband's care transferring him to John Hopkins and they had nothing to say but "excellent" with Candy"s aggresstiveness and devotion. She saved my husband's life. Got the cancer before it became "deadly".

Dr. Burrows, a JHH physician, raves over her intelligence and committment to excellent healthcare.

I Have seen the doctor, and all i can say is he's getting a bad wrap there with Candy Burns. When i started seeing her i left and never went back.I was diagnosed with R.A.With no thanks to Candy. On 5 different visits she gave me pain meds instead of sending me out for testing, which I asked her to do many times. Finally after speaking w/Dr.Paseri she sent me for testing. She knew nothing about medical facts and went to a medical book for BIG and small medical facts. My RA test came in and she didn't even know what the numbers meant.Sad to say if something isn't done IMO Candy Burns is asking for a Medical Malpractice LAWSUIT.

I have never been to a practice like this.Horrible experiance!!!Not only is Candy unethical, not professional, but she does not care about the well being of her patients.Candy's main agenda is getting paid for visits and blood work NOT needed.Don't try to see a specialist it will take a year,so you or your insurance company can get milked. The front end staff is no better, bad attitudes, trained well to up hold Candy in her poor ethics. If u r sick DON'T GO TO PENINSULA INTERNAL MEDICINE.

This practice is highly unethical. Both my mother and myself were patients of Candy Burns. We both had blood work taken and because we did not physically go back to the office, she would not send us our blood labs nor forward them to our other doctors (cardiologist and endocrinologist). This is unethical and placed my mother in a very unstable situation since her thyroid levels affect her heart and her medication. I contacted an attorney about this and he tried to contact them and they still would not release our records to him and he then informed them it was against the law. Do not waste your time or money on this practice...too risky to your health.

To all medical vendors and health insurers - BEWARE! Getting paid by this practice is tougher than finding Osama bin Laden. You will never get Candy Burns on the phone and every call is screened to the point of frustration.

You have been warned.
