Vegetarian Palate

I was delighted to find out about Vegetarian Palate because it has a menu extremely similar to that of Vegetarian Paradise 2 in the Village, except it's in Brooklyn, which is much more convenient for me. I am not sure whether it's owned by the same people who own VP2, but it seems likely considering the similarities between the menus. They have my favorite VP2 dish, mango chicken, with strips of fake chicken, onion, peppers and fresh mango in a mango shell. They also have something very similar to VP2's trademarked Crispy Soul Chicken, except it has a different name and slightly different texture. The two dishes made with taro, lemon chicken and iron steak, are enjoyable as long as you realize that you are ordering a fried root vegetable rather than fake meat. The lunch specials are a great deal--I recommend trying the corn soup with your entree.
